I have the bucket cemented into the slab in the basement with a pedestal pump and float switch.
It's been running non-stop for 5 hours now.
Not switching on and off.
Running full blast.
36 gallons per minute.
Just keeping my fingers crossed.

The Rain Slowed down, and narry a drop, thankfully.
No feesh today.. it's momma's day, made her a big breakfast, and know just waiting for the afternoon agenda......

I'm doing both... 3 fish out the back door, in between downpours and monitoring the sumps... one of the benefits of living on the water, I get lots of sanity breaks:humpty:

had pioneer basement come in a few years ago and since then no aqua in da hizouse....lets just hop the pump holds up as she is pumping every ~40 seconds.....YIKES!!!

Pioneer gaurantees no aqua in the basement after their work so lets hope I do not need to call them.

Got the backup ready to go and the backup to the backup as well.

I am going to stream video of the pump and basement from my PC to my work PC (yes I am a loser) so if the pump alarm starts a blowin I can come home and activate the backup.

Been in my waders since 0400, and no fishing!!! Gotten eight calls so far. Having half a dozen pumps brought up from CT as all are sold out here in eastern Mass. Sucks, as have been managing a stream in my shop too, but is manageable with two pumps keeping up with the half inch of groundwater I'm recirculating. My clients and neighbors are much worse off, so not complaining too much. Ten inches here so far....

Not a drop until 8:00 tonight and I've been doing the shop vac & bucket brigade since. Now it's 3". It's a loosing battle at 10 gallons a minute.

pump has been going for days, the rest is towels 101 in the spin cycle then in the dryer. I will have one hell of of an electric bill next month.

Best bet for a pump would be a pool supply store that wasn't open yesterday if you can find one. Waited outside of one yesterday for it to open and was able to score on. Don't even bother with hardware stores.

Manch and Gloucester are pretty well soaked at this point... I live at the top of a street and when we walked down to the ocean there is a river just pouring into this poor guys house maybe 5 houses down... He is probably the most screwed i have seen so far.

This is incredible...Its been pouring for 3 days with no breaks here.
Went down to bass rocks in gloucester yesterday. The surf was absolutly amazing.... and the flooding is prime time television material..

Been watching mine. So far , no problem. About 2 or 3 inches higher in the ground water and the pump will start (I hope) .

Catching Large and Small mouth bass in the harbor due to the influx of fresh water. All take on Rooster tails.

Lurch, I bought a house with that same Pioneer dry bsmt setup. I bought the house a year and a half ago during the summer drought. Found out since the pump is going on and off 9 months a year...Its running rapid cycles now, not much downtime. I'm glad I replaced the Zoeller cast iron pump after the last wet weather we had- the float would stick and the backup battery (bilge) pump would go on along with a heart stopping alarm. I'm buying another pump to keep next to the system in case of a failure when (as mentioned above)- you can't find one in a crisis. A plumber reccommended doing that. For 125.00 its cheap insurance and a hedge against inflation- they all wear out eventually. Its easy to replace, just make sure you get a check valve if you need one. Mine was at the pump and I didn't see it until I took the old one off- good thing I recycled it cause my jury rigged 800gph billge pump was slowly losing ground as I worked. Good luck...
