Nice read.I was some what surprised in his color selections.I guess I'm just more of a natural color guy.Seems dennis likes all the tuity fruity colors.I have to be more open minded.

Color choices and their success really do make you wonder how bass see beyond all the science... tuity fruity was a great gum as a kid....:boots:

Great article, im a fan of the chartruse/lime green color also.

Ya the lime green is a LI thing u know whats funny i have trown em in NJ an they almost never work.It's wierd how colors relate to area's.

Its got to be more than bait imitated.... there isn`t that great a diversity between NJ and Maine in common bait is there?

Water coloring, quality, consistency, various bottom colors related to rocks, sand, gravel, plant growth, levels of pollutants all might be factors in how fish see/perceive colors.

Quality of light in specific regions related to air quality and how that effects objects seen must be a factor as well, one would think.

I think the color of pink and orange worked so well is because they have a longer wave length of light and after a distance 10 ft or so in the water appear to be gray. As the fish moves in for a closer look the reds, pinks, oranges seem to trigger a preditorial response. We know that red is an aggression trigger maybe the others as well.

It is pretty interesting the whole color thing, alot of my plugs are chartruse and i use them all time, it just seems to really work well when the water is muddy which we get alot here on LI. Plus our water is defidently not a clear as you northern guys.
