anybody seen it?

here's the deal.
i'm looking for a 28' fiberglass hull.
single screw inboard.
for CHEAP money. like under 3 grand and preferably somewhat close to boston.
running. siezed motor.rotted out deck.. whatever...
i looked at a 1972 26' silverton that needs a refit top to botom but if i'm gunna do this i want a 28 footer. gotta have plenty of cabin room for the family. stand up head etc...

i'm gunna build it myself

i could care less what condition the cabin is in. the deck whatever all i want is a solid glass 28 foot hull.
someone's gotta have it somewhear.

something like a 1970's 28 foot silverton/luhrs/pheonix type flybrige {reason is, i want the second steering station for later use}.
my plan is to cut the flybrige off and turn it into a downeast type. single screw, fuel injected gas inboard. the way I want it.

anybody seen it ?

Sorry - a little higher than what you want but very rare (and not all that close):

http://www.classicseacraft.com/forsale/aloha/0001.jpg

For Sale; Seacraft 27. 1968 flybridge convertible. Redone in 1998 (finished), professionally converted from twin to single Mercruiser 454, 300Hp, Bravo 1 outdrive new in 1996, 215hours with fresh water flush. Has power steering, tilt, trim tabs, stainless steel prop, 15" X 15". New poly 40gallon selectible fuell tanks. Vessel has galley with appliances, head with overboard flush, dinette (4 place), veeberth with 'V' filler. Flybridge with helm & observer seats, bimini top, spray shield. Electronics are antiquated VHF, botom machine, GPS. Deck has danforth 16 anchor with rode, fenders and lines. Cockpit has saltwater washdown, fishing chair, live bait or fish well. Last time in water, one month ago, then set on her roller trailer.

Belonged to doctor fishing friend that had a heart attack and can no longer care for her. To my knowledge, the only thing that doesn't work now is the washdown pump. Not leaking but could probably use a new accordian gasket before heavy use.

Price is $12,500 OBO. 361/855-3807, Corpus Christi, Texas. Always here after 1800hours, unless we're fishing. Any questions, just call.

Mike,
you need to be more selective. Make sure you get a hull that will do what you want it to. Most silverton's won't. If it has twin stay with twins, odds are it won't get out of its own way with a single. If you want a downeast, with the full keel that's what you have to buy, not some cheap, shallow V planing hull. You can't make a downeast out of a planing hull and visa-versa, so make up your mind first. There are plenty of downeast workboats around if that's what you want.

I knew you'd have to get another boat someday. I'll keep on the lookout for ya :eyes:

Theres an old 40 something foot egg harbor in Gloucester for like 14k. Needs total restoration but beautiful lines.

i don't want a full keel
gotta be a planing hull.
i had a 28' silverton flybrige 1972 that did 18 knots with a single 360 chrysler.
thats about the platform i want to start with.
gotta have that nice big cabin and that huge deck with atleast 10 foot beam.
bye downeast style i mean i'll turn the cabin into a downeast style. drive from inside. put the second station out on the deck.
i've re-decked about four boats now so it's no biggie.
plus i need something to do next winter
