Whats your favorite fishing rod?

That I use? a Tica 10' 2 piece spinning

That i dont? My grandfathers first pole... No idea who made it.. All I know its about 40 years old, and I took it out once... Its a cannon.. Got it hanging on my wall. 12' 1 piece

reel - my grandfathers, then my fathers, now mine 20+ year old penn 704.

Quarrow QS1002HR Green Country ML1 2pc 10' surf rod with a bailess 704.

Depends on where I want to fish. If I could only have 1 fishing rod it would be my zziplex sea raiderII. Not the best at all applications, like throwing 7/8 bombers or 6 oz rubber duckies but it will do both adequately.

Though I like a falcon rod that I tried recently... might be the next purchase

lami 1201 m I love that rod great eel or pencil rod not to many graphite rods can do those well.plus a tuff blank to boot.

I change favorites sometimes but right now its a 1321M that i had to cut a foot and a half from the butt..dont ask.:tooth: This thing is unbelieveable, and the length is great..itll throw anything.

One rod? Impossible for me. I think my problem is figuring out which one is my favorite on a given night fishing a certain way. Here is my list of rods I frequently use:

1201M - spinner and conventional - spinner is sweet for darters, conventional is great on eels

1081MH - SWEET slug-go rod as a spinner, just getting used to it as a conventional

1321M conventional - great needlefish, jigging, or eel rod

Zziplex sea raider - still getting used to this one, but it is a very good all around conventional

I been using the lami triflex alot forget the # in van .. 10' 2pc. throws everything.. fights a fish well

My sweet little Loomis 8 footer

For both fresh and salt (light tackle) for me it is my Shimano Magnumlite GT Fightin rods from the 80's. Still use them today. They have the reel seat buit right into the blank and a real strong backbone. Bluefish and stripers on them are an absolute ball to catch. Like any other light tackle setup, it helps to have a reel with good drag.

I second taggers opinion of the lami triflex- very impressed by the rod so far. I want another but lami d/c'd the series I am told!!

What I think you'd wind up with is something between the old 1204 and the 1205. I think it'd be a winner, and IMO what Lami should have come out with as the new 1204.

I just picked up a Batson 1088 from M&D's and it is seriously Sweet.

The custom Saltheart just made for me:happy:

I also love my batson 1089 for jiggin..... but the 1201M is the first and last rod I reach for 90% of the time.....

A couple of weeks ago I upgraded to GLoomis 1266 (C).... I love it, although I could use a few bigger fishing tugging at the other end.

I just picked up a Batson 1088 from M&D's and it is seriously Sweet.

I also did this spring.Its my second favorite rod and my most used rod.

lami 1363M in honey, 6" off tip and 3'off butt. a friend had this exact rod, having made it out of a broken 1363M. he proceeded to break it again throwing into his truck one night :eek: anyways i liked it so much i bought the blank, cut it up and had a shop wrap it. gets matched with an Abu 7000.

Canal and rigged eels,,,Lami GSB 1201m cut back 6" from butt, with a Abu7000 Big Game.... for needles and swimmers- Lami GLB1081L, with a Penn 650SS- both rods I wrapped myself w cork tape butts- no reel seats Sic guides... Nothing fancy- but they work for me.

Just did the same this morning! The Rainshadow donated by Capesam for the katrina raffle. going to eat a fast breakfast and go give it a work out!

Still love my Allstar 1265-2 by Saltheart, too!

I also picked up a rainshadow 1088 from mike....I used it all the time...and love it....it is my favorite..for now
