Steve: Congrats on the sale. (I guess) that was a sweet ride, but I kow why you did it. Anyway., Joe K has a wellcraft CC 21' I've been in it a few times its a nice ride and goes like a batouttaheII with only a carburated 140 pushing her. I was impressed. Shes older and solid.
Good hull design, I dont really like the wellcraft step Vs hull, my good buddy has one and its very bumpy (like loosen your fillings bumpy).
Not sure the model of Joe's, but its not the step V. and it cuts through the chop very nicely.
Good Luck, Ya know Proline makes some nice boats too..!!!!!!!!:hihi:
BEETLE 06-23-2006, 07:42 AM Thanks Van.
Saw a 98 Sea-Pro 23ft. W/A online in NJ yesterday. 225 Suzuki and New 2006 Alum. trailer. 350 hours on boat and motor. Tons of goodies with boat including 10 hp Suzi. kicker. Looks clean.
broker says 20K bottom line.
Doing some research now on that boat and motor.
Also checking on a 23 Key West W/A, never heard of them either.
pmueller 06-23-2006, 07:44 AM Were you having issues with the contender??
Casper 06-23-2006, 08:50 AM If you are interested in Parker's, talk to either Frank M (he's got a 21'), or the Capt Chuck (he's got a 23'), or the Capt Ron (he's got a 25').
Overall a nice boat.
:point: :kewl:
taJon 06-23-2006, 09:31 AM You should look at the seaswirl. The 23 feels bigger than the 26 wellcraft coastal. Pretty nice too.
BEETLE 06-23-2006, 11:37 AM pmueller - no issues with the Contender - just a financial and practicality move. Now that I have a slip, a cabin would be nice to stow the gear, and get out of the weather.
Also handy to sleep in if the wife ticks me off !!!
Should also add I'm keeping spending in the 20K range for a used package.
TaJon - Seaswirls are on the list as well - thanks for your comments.
BEETLE 06-27-2006, 03:48 AM Looking at MAKO'S - 225 or 230 Walkarounds. Any one have comments on MAKO boats.
quick decision 06-27-2006, 05:56 AM Where is your slip?
taJon 06-27-2006, 06:20 AM Makos are nice but you'll pay more for the name along with grady and BW. I hear that the KeyWest boats are very nice and SeaPros are pretty good to. I ride on a 18' CC seapro and it does very well in the chop, nice and dry too.
BEETLE 06-27-2006, 08:34 AM QD - slip is up Fore River across from BYC - nothing fancy and will be in the mud on minus 1 ft tides, but it's close to house (1 minute) and the price is right.
Looking at older Makos, mid 1980s to mid 1990s in the 20k range - boat motor trailer. Just printed out a few off yachtworld and boattrader locally to research and kick tires.
Can't pull the trigger until the Contenders gone, and the check cashed, which should be next week.
beamie 06-27-2006, 09:05 AM Beetle,
There was last month a 23' Mako Inboard, hard to find, in The Fisherman classifieds for short money.12-14K or so. Engine less than 100hrs I think.
