View Full Version : Surf Asylum Lure Striper Contest
Canalman 06-23-2006, 02:26 PM Dave and I have decided to hold a fishing contest for the 2006 season for Striped Bass caught on a Surf Asylum plug or rubber bait. The contest is open to members of S-B only and any entered fish must meet all of the criteria listed below. It must be a legal fish, meaning that it measure at least 28 inches from the tip of the tail to the tip of the nose or lower lip. The angler must be pictured holding the fish with the lure still in the fish’s mouth. Legal entry will also require a picture of the fish laying on or beside a measuring tape. All pictures should be posted on this thread. Only lures sold or given away under the Surf Asylum brand can be used, no F18 or Canalman plugs will be allowed this includes swap plugs from this past winter.
Prizes:
Each month we will award a prize of 2 plugs and 3 Real-Eels to the winner in the style, size and color of their choice.
The largest fish caught for the whole season will win a complete set of our plugs and a special personalized commemorative plug that will list your name, the size of the fish and the date.
In the event of a tie both winners will receive the prize pack. We’ll also do something for the person with the most fish entered.
The contest will begin today 6/23/06 and end 12/1/06.

NIB, I thought of you when I first read this thread :hihi:
I got one on a pencil last night 45 1/2" on the tape in the pic.It went 34 lbs.it was 46 inches on the board when i weighed it in.for the local tourney.I have weigh slip from the tackle shop.I took a pic but it was pouring an the pic came out kinda foggy. There are 2 fish in the pic 34 an 33 lbs.I have maybe 15-30 lbers this week.I am not good at counting fish.this is a conservitive number. To 39.2 On a MAC popper.I need more of those bad as I lost one when it broke the 100 lb test leader when the surf recededed on the jetty an I had the line around my hand with a mid 30 size fish.I will be throwing my Surf Assylum popper till i loose it an I hope they stay around.I will try to email the pics to Slip to see what he can do.Big Country came down from LI, He got into em wit us friday eve.He wants to know what houses go for around these parts. They are blitzing fish so they are kinda easy to hook hard to get in last night was mayhem as there where alot of guys on em.without alot of room.It was a tourential downpour with lots of lightning. One good bolt could have wiped out 2 fishing clubs an there also would have been a big fish fry. I would type more but i just got the call.:D

Goose 08-10-2006, 05:19 PM D&D, wheres the thread on how to weight them big rubba's down?
Canalman 08-11-2006, 08:15 AM Tony,
I put 2 weights in the head section, 2 weights around the rear hook and 1 in the tail. works well :btu:
In The Surf 08-11-2006, 09:19 AM I think they work plenty well even unweighted. Nice slithery/swimming action.
Slipknot 08-11-2006, 04:51 PM bump for NIB's pictures of his cows on surf asylum pencil, thanks to Mrs. Slip
