Johneeed 06-24-2006, 03:49 PM stren high impact.... great for all conditions and terrain... In The Surf 06-24-2006, 05:18 PM 20 poundAnde back country. Stay away from braid if you surf cast around rocks! :chatter I agree to diasagree, 30 pound Fireline. I wouldn't call it a braid, it's more of a extracted, spun gel. Bombproof, try it in the rocks, you'll never look back and never use anything else. Max Power 06-24-2006, 07:16 PM Fireline is a great line as far as braid goes yet it still fails to hold a candle to mono as far abrasion resistance, especially backcountry. Backcountry may be the toughest line arround. I mananged pull a good fish out of heavy, heavy, cover (serious rocks and kelp beds) recently. This line held up spectacularly, not a nick on it. That's just my 2 cents, if my oppinion is even worth that. Everyone has their own line preference and for some reason we all defend our own as the best to the death.:o gone fishin 06-24-2006, 08:27 PM power Pro - it is round and doesn't dig in:) basswipe 06-25-2006, 06:44 AM I got turned on to the backcountry last season by a couple of guys here and have never looked back. baldwin 06-25-2006, 01:32 PM I haven't had problems yet with 30-lb Fireline, even through several trips to Cuttyhunk. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
