I live in southie and all the fishmarkets that i have tried have been a disapointment. The fishpier on broadway is marginal at best but thats only after having my standards lowered by the competition around here. I want some extra fresh tuna for sesame crusted tuna with spicy soy glaze that I am planning on cooking for dinner.

Anybody know a good place around here?

Go to the fish pier or if need be Legal Seafoods brags about its freshness.

I heard of a place on the fish pier in Boston called Sea to You supposedly open 10-2 on Saturday with retail window. A few other people mentioned Intershell Seafood up in Gloucester, MA and that they sell to public in afternoon.

Good luck

Seawitch on Route 1 is tops but that's most likely a little to far north.

The absolutly best fish in Boston is in Brookline . Check out Wolfs on Harvard Ave. If I couldn't get from a wholesaler or the boats Wolfs was it.

have you tried that place on Dot Ave? i think the name is Faris's? It's between D st and Old Colony Av. I used to work across the street from there and threy were pretty good, never had a problem. Is the lobster market still on Farragut rd near second st? I've been out of Southie for a while now, I'm not even sure if they're still there.

James Hook on Northern Ave
Fisherman's Fleet on Salem St in Malden
(Only takes 15 minutes from Southie. Rt1 1 to Rte 60 exit. Just go early.)

My family gave up on the traditional holiday dinners years ago.
Now it's all seafood every holiday.
They have always had good luck with those two.

I wonder if the No Name is still around??
Don't think they did market fish, but were a great resteraunt on the water.

If you wanna make the drive.

The place next to the sandwich "harbor of refuge"

ask for the whole fish (do this anyhow everywhere)
