View Full Version : BFT special for S-B.com members
MakoMike 06-28-2006, 04:11 PM Now that the Bluefins are close to Block Island I'll pass on the fuel savings and offer a special price for S-B.com members. Take $100 off my normal price for offshore charters for Bluefin Tuna trolling trips off the south end of Block Island. The fish are there and they are being caught. Some throwbacks and some keepers have been caught this week. I have several open dates on the weekends in the next couple of weeks. Just mention this ad when you call or e-mail me. Visit the website at Http://www.Makomania.net This trip can be combined with a couple of hours of striped bass fishing if you so desire. This offer will only last as long as the bluefins are within a reasonable distance off Block Island, when and if they move off, the offer ends.
JohnR 06-28-2006, 09:06 PM That's pretty cool Mike.
Guys and Gals, if you have not had a chance to hook into a tuna, all I can say is that the 20 something pounders we were into last year was a howl. I can't wait to try out on something, err, bigger :lasso:
Sounds like a good opportunity for some from the site to pool in for a trip :btu:

When I grow up, I want a boat like that :bl:
MakoMike 06-30-2006, 05:13 PM John,
Well, for a very reasonable price you can own it for a day, complete with Captain!
MakoMike 07-02-2006, 09:59 PM Collecting my reports today seems like the BFT are already starting to move to the east, so this offer isn't likely to last very long!
RIROCKHOUND 07-05-2006, 08:59 AM Yeah hit the Mudhole Mon AM...
marked bait, birds, and draggers. Saw red marks deep.. below 125ft
Guess the bite turned on after we left.. so I heard... oh well...

MakoMike 07-05-2006, 11:35 AM Eben,
wood = cedar plugs = very good! :)
last year i threw dannies at BFT's.... not a sniff- they were just too slow. Clammer was howling at me, but i had to do it. IF i had one of my darters i know i would have hooked up with at least one.
the question is- will my mako 19 make it to the mudhole
MakoMike 07-05-2006, 01:58 PM Eben,
If you pick your days very carefully. Or you could quit worring about it and just come along with me! I'm pretty sure you could scrounge up three more wanna be tuna fishermen.
ThrowingTimber 07-05-2006, 02:27 PM
Pete_G 07-05-2006, 02:31 PM We got them on Danny's last year. And everything else. They love the Mag Darter maybe more then the stripers do.
When they're all horned up I don't know if anything doesn't work:

I heard Stellwagon is loaded w/ 30 - 80# class sbft, and gbft up to 700lbs are being caught at the NW corner...
They are saying that the bank is like it was 10 yrs ago!

That is an exageration.
MakoMike 07-07-2006, 06:25 AM Stellwagon is waaay too far for me.
MakoMike 07-10-2006, 09:35 AM based on yesterday's reports the fish are still close, so the special is still on. No one want to catch some bluefin?
MakoMike 07-14-2006, 06:19 AM From what I'm hearing there are still some keeper-sized fish around.
JohnR 07-14-2006, 08:32 AM I'm a little too poor in funds and time to go right now but there has GOT to be someone that wants to take a chance at some TOOOONNNNAAAAHH - they are a blast to catch and not to shabby to eat either!
MakoMike 07-17-2006, 11:51 AM and not to shabby to eat either!
That may qualify as the unerstatement of the year!
