tattoobob 07-03-2006, 06:38 AM I had a great time it was great meeting everyone and catching up with the guys I did know, I got a total of 5 hrs. of sleep from Fri. morning to sunday night.
GBOUTDOORS 07-03-2006, 06:50 AM So who got the biggest fish this time? Had a great night out with John Fri. to bad the wind wouldn't lay down we found the fish but it was hard to keep the boat off the rocks. Clammer we tried to call you to join us but no go on the radio or the cell phone. Hope your ride back was not TOO rough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Would have stopped out agian Sat. but I did not like the weather they were calling for so maybe in Sept. I will get the chance to spend more time and get to the cookout in the daytime.
nightfighter 07-03-2006, 07:25 AM Greg,
You got JohnR the biggun, 27 lb by the time we weighed it in. But Josh Clogston got the biggest shore fish, appox 42 inches from shore in the wee hours of Sat/Sun night on an eel I believe. Kevin, The Dad Fisherman had the biggest fish, a four foot shark, one of two he caught from shore! Wind made for difficult casting conditions. Call me about the Sept trip.
My legs are beat, but their in better shape than those fried pegs that Luds came home with. And he walked through both nights, ALL night, in waders, with that burn..... ah youth!
Great time, can't wait for Sept. ..... and the Wizard didn't think he'd fit in:smash:
afterhours 07-03-2006, 07:44 AM sounds like the boys had a great time! can't wait to get back there...
fishaholic18 07-03-2006, 07:48 AM Nice pix Mike. How was the ride back, was kinda worried about ya when I saw that wind. Good to see ya made it ok and looks like you had a good time.
Dave
JohnR 07-03-2006, 07:48 AM Greg - again, great meeting up with you~! That was the heaviest fish, 27#s and 40" Fat. Awesome time that night! Hope the trip back was at least fair :yak:
Great time out on the island! Fishing would have been better had the wind laid down a bit. Great meeting the new guys and seeing the old ones again :btu:
Clogston29 07-03-2006, 08:07 AM Awsome time out there and it was great meeting everyone. Fishing was tough with the wind but some fish where caught, finding current and drifting eels was the best method (as would be expected) - too much wind for doing much else. Caught some small fish while scouting out the island during the day on Friday (Surf Asylem spooks produced the best for Luds and I during the day) but day fishing really wasn't worth while with the lack of bait and bright sun. Would have been a great time even if we got skunked. My legs and shoulders are worn out. Can't wait to get back out there.
You guys should have seen Mike's legs on Sunday morning when he took his waders off after we walked the whole island
Fishpart 07-03-2006, 08:40 AM Ride back was a little bumpy.....Sorry couldn't let go long enough for a photo....Plenty of air so no :yak6:
It was a great time with a great bunch of guys!!!!
Finaddict 07-03-2006, 09:28 AM Have to say, I felt like I got run over by a garbage truck this morning when I woke up. the soles of my feet are still throbbing from the pounding ... caught some good fish topped off with a very acrobatic 34-inch, spunky guy Sunday morning out in front of the club with an Afterhours pencil. Also produced some fish on spooks - Surf Asylum, Afterhours and Tattoos. Eels at night were good for da bass and dogs.
The company was excellent -- great group of guys to hang out with, Bonnie and her crew were extremely hospitable, the lodge was very comfortable and it was a fun time. Would have preferred not have gotten lost on Friday night to walk up to the bunker on top of the island, it cut into our fishing time ...
But would do it again in a heartbeat ... maybe rent a golf cart or see if they can rent a four wheeler to drive us everywhere, or start working out to get ready for the next trip ... and will try to go light the next time ... no longer will I carry a full plug bag (mostly big plugs), backpack, several waters, cleats, big 35-mm camera, two rods, etc. etc. etc. under a hot sun ... :spin:
But it was awesome, glad to meet everyone and hope to fish with you again soon. Also thanks to Surf Asylum, Big Fish and Eben for their generosity and sharing some of their great lures.
Swimmer 07-03-2006, 10:31 AM Hey great pics and an even better time. Happy for you all.

tattoobob 07-03-2006, 07:55 PM John I would have loved to see that when all those Yuppies were eating breakfast.
I want to thank who ever donated the striper to my mother-in-laws 84th B-Day it was great, it was one of the boat fish that was caught Saturday night by Clammer, Fishpart, or #^&#^&#^&#^& (what's his screen name?) It was and came out really great and she enjoyed every bite.
Bob
