Last night after picking up a few keepers in the Galilee Channel on herring, I arrived back to my slip at Billington Cove about 7:30 and the worm hatch was on, there were small bass all around the docks hammering the worms. Water temps in the back of the pond are in the 61-63^ mark. Get out there and have fun!!!!

I was in The Pond area myself...only under it, not on it.

Shot video of Captain Ed Hughes catching shad on the fly.

The underwater action got interesting.

Each time Ed would try to land one, Jake (his faithful Black Lab and fishing pal) would paddle after it with full intentions of devouring it. Fantastic footage, punctuated with a paddling pooch -- it's destined for the "funny outtakes" section of one of my next videos.

179, thanks for the heads up. I still have to get my stinking boat in the water -- needs one more coat of bottom paint and it looks like rain tomorrow :smash:
Hope to dunk it this weekend.
Speaking of Shad, I've heard of good results live-lining them. I haven't done the herring thing, and all these posts are killing me. Think I'll bring a five gallon bucket, jig up a few shad and give it a go at the channel one of these days

I haven't ventured that way much, tend to go Deep Hole way more, but will have to snoop around there now :D
Looks like you picked a good week Scotch - enjoy

Scotch,
My buddy was in PJ pond last night and said the hatch was still on but slowed from the night before, he also said there were a few shad in the mix.

I'm making a trip to the herring run tonight and hopefully I'll be out there tomorrow night. Has the C-town breachway been giving up anything large yet?
