Slipknot 07-06-2006, 06:16 PM I finally got the wife to help me finish my website on the building of our boat. I still have one more picture to add to it but it's about done. I need one more showing the name on the sides. It took about 16 months on and off to make it. Now I see they offer plans for a 14 foot planing boat that I would have chose over this one but I am happy with how it came out.

Diggin Jiggin 07-06-2006, 08:03 PM Bruce that's an awesome pictorial of the process.
When I was a freshman in high school, my school had a summer marine vocations program which was a boat building class taught by local builder. The class was 4 hours a day all summer long, but when you finished you had a boat. I built a 13' Sissy Do, which was basically a very wide flat bottomed work skiff that we modified a bit.
What a blast we had with that boat getting towed around by bluefish...

I dug this up, actually found it doing a search for my site bmwoodworking.com and this page was on page 6 of google
I figured maybe RMarsh may enjoy seeing the site too, as he is doing a FINE job on his C17
To answer your questions Raven, sorry it took so long , those are called spray rails, sorry no pics of their install. I took mahogany and made some 3/4" quarter round and glued them on with thickened epoxy, used predrilled for screws to hold in place, then later filled those holes after removing the screws.
cost was about 1200
it weighs about 120 lbs, so I guess it was 10 bucks a pound :D
I still enjoy the boat with Danny but we don't get out enough with it, it seems each year it takes fewer and fewer trips :(
Dave, I never did get it to 15 hp. , part way though, I just need to get that needle changed some day :)
striperman36 08-15-2011, 07:43 PM You live right down the street from that lake, I loved fishing that lake when I lived in Middleboro.

Nice boat and good job putting that page together.
So you didn't put one layer of glass over the entire outside after taping and fairing the seams? What kind of epoxy did you use, west, system 3, mas?
Slipknot 08-16-2011, 07:21 AM Thanks!
