Has anyone tried this "gas saving" device??
Its my understanding you can get 15% better milage.

Don't believe it. If I'm not mistaken, that's the device that is fitted onto your throttle body air intake and is supposed to create a swirling "tornado" of air/fuel mixture. Correct? Most newer cars and trucks are direct fuel injected. That being the case, there is no air/fuel mixture at the throttle body mounting position.
I may be wrong because I'm not an auto mechanic, but that's what crossed my mind when I looked at them a couple years ago.:confused:
Maybe someone here with more knowledge than me (pretty much anyone) can weigh in on this. I'd be interested to hear that I'm wrong and they really do work and I wouldn't waste $80-$100.:huh:

I think I see your point, but there has to be some sort of air/fuel mixture otherwise there would be no combustion. Apparently, there are no electical connections to make, the flow of air gets the blades turning and improves air flow into the engine.
To me it sounds like a "Slick 50" kinda of thing.
At the price they are getting for it, alittle over $100.00, I'ld like to see some thoughts on this product.
Heck, if it improved gas milage 5% its worth it.

It looks as if there are no blade that spin. There are blades but only to create swirling.

I've seen some serious debates on this at some other sites but forgot the results (though I think it was nil). Go to f150online.com and look it up...

Changing airflow by changing the way it gets to the intake does change performace. Like high RPM engines liking straight stacks and low grunters like long curving tubes. But the Volcano might be crap. If you want to add 10-15% fuel economy, get a scan guage (scanguage.com) so you can read your instantaneous fuel economy and adjust the way you hammer the pedal. I bought one last year for $120 and it has certainly paid for itself...
