Just picked up a honey of a rod made by Saltheart and not only is it functional, it's beautiful. If anyone has any doubts about his ability to make a fine rod, fear not. The best part about Saltheart's rods is that he's been fishing since he was 12 so he knows rods and their applications! The pics don't do the rod justice!

Mike, feel free to add any of the other pics I sent you. I can only seem to post 1 at a time?!?!?

Thanks for the compliments. Thats a great pic Rich. One thing you can barely see is the next row of diamonds above. Its a double pattern. There are not only diamonds on the top and bottom as usual , but there are also diamonds on the two sides. In rod building its funny. A single has two rows of diamonds and a double like this one has four rows. The one I made Slipknot for ;last years tournament prize is called a quad which has 8 rows of diamonds.

That rod is an Allsatr 1265/2. Its simply awesome. I think its a perfect rod for throwing eels in the surf. It'll also cast lighter plugs and throw a 2 OZ Kastmaster almost to Block Island from East Beach (I said almost :) ).

Anyway , I'm glad people like the thread art cause I like doing it. When I'm doing it , I feel almost like Leonardo DeVinci ( I said almost :) ) !!
