It is the time when teams look to unload salary, and contenders try to get get stronger.

Seanez and Tavarez one or both of them will be gone?

Trot, could go he will be gone after this season, they might trade him for someone that they could sign for a few years,I would hate to see him go, :rotf3:

Coco, he is signed long term and just not getting it done,he is not the leadoff hitter they thought he would be, the 0 for 20's don't cut it and is not that good a fielder with a weak arm.

Wily Mo for the right deal.

I would be looking for a pitcher a good no2 type, and a power hitting right hand hitter. It would be great if he played the outfield.

Ok you GM's lets have some fun with this. What are the Sox going to do?:grins:

To be honest I think Theo will do very little.

I don't know what kind of value Nixon has on the market, probably not much since he's not signed past this year. If they don't want to re-sign him Willy Mo takes his place. And no, Pena hasn't played good in right at Fenway, but that's one of the toughest right fields in the league, so given time he might learn it.

If any starters get traded I'm gonna say most likely Loretta. I don't care if he's an all star. He's 35 I think, and they need to make room for Pedroia unless they plan on trading him. They're gonna sign Gonzales to an extension (if they don't then they're stupid) and will need someone at second. Pedroia may be the one.

I don't know where they stand on Coco. He hasn't impressed me yet.
Definately not doing what was expected.

I'm betting they sit tight. They shouldnt part with Delcarmen or Nixon. Unfortunately, the other GMs watch baseball so they won't want BigHead Rudy or Freddy Kruger Tavarez. I smell outright releases for them.

Stick with Schilling, Beckett, Lester, Wake (in a month), some Pawsox kid or FatBoy Wells.

I don't think it will be any major move....but they will probably get a relief pitcher I would think.....I doubt they want to break up the # 1 defense in the game right now....( even though they have had a rough couple of games ) ....they need bullpen help for the stretch run...can't trot Timlin out every night...the young guys are great, but I bet they try and get another veteran...Foulke sucks..he won't be back, at least not in 04 form.

OAKLAND, Calif. -- Keith Foulke is trying to salvage more than this season. Hampered by injuries the past 18 months, his career has taken such a drastic downturn that the former closer isn't sure he wants to pitch beyond this year.

"I'll let you know when the season is over," said Foulke, who has been out since June 12 with a sore right elbow that the team has said is tendinitis. "I'm not going to continue like this. It's not worth my time. It's not worth anybody's time."

Foulk is a worthless sack of dog dung. He cost the team last year by not getting his knees fixed in the off season and now this.
The guy got his millions he don't care, he has no pride.
I will tell you this if he was just a working man that got hurt on the job he would have to hire a lawyer just to get his workers comp to survive.

Red Sox fans please tell your GM to take Pat Burrell from us. We'll give him to you for nothing. JUST TAKE HIS SALARY:)

Yankees made some good trades!!!
RED SOX DID NOTHING!!!
Say "Good Bye" to the division title!!!
With Nixon hurt they should call up Adam Stern and
cut Tavares and Seanez loose!!!
Hope that Wells and Wakefield can come back!!!
Use Manny D, Timlin and Palpalpon in relief only when
the game is on the line!!!
GOOD LUCK!!!

I guess everyone wanted the young gun pitchers? I am glad Theo said no to them.
The Sox don't have much to barter away, Like I said before Coco, Loretta, Trot, would not have broken my heart.
The Sox had to hold on to Wily Mo,with Nixon hurt.
Seanez and Tavares no one wants them two they are making big bucks.

Holy Crap,, I read two Bigcat posts and found myself moving my head up and down , not side to side.

Go Sox! Screw Abreu, and all 8 of his HRs this year with a .277 BA. BFD.

Gonzo has better batting stats.

Coco fielding is very impressive! There are catches that he made that are unreal! Johnny can never make those and as for arm, I think his is much better than Damon's. So it's an upgrade on Defense and more speed if he can get on base for Offense.

Wily Mo? More like Wily Blow!

I have not been impressed with Coco's outfielding of late! Very clumsy at best! Yes, he has made some fabulous catches on some tough balls....however he has flubbed or nearly flubbed quite a few cans of corn of late...I don't think he handles the sun well!
