You may recall, I asked the same question about June and there were a tremendous amount of dissatisfied fisherman. So, how has July 2006 treated you, so far ?

So, how has July 2006 treated you, so far ? Slingah 07-29-2006, 01:27 PM July has treated me like every other July......slow from the beach around my local haunts....just getting out and getting a few now and then suits me fine...for July....if it's like this in Sept/Oct...then I'll be pissed:tooth: Back Beach 07-29-2006, 01:40 PM Its been consistent for me. No blitzes, but steady. A dozen or so fish high teen# size through low 30# size in five nights or so along with a few twinks. All surf fishing. My brother is bailing them from the boat in RI. If the surf dies down, I may go for some of the easy ones with him. numbskull 07-29-2006, 01:43 PM I'm not complaining. Canalman 07-29-2006, 01:46 PM Last July was unbelievable for us... we had 20 pound fish almost every trip... this year.... hasn't been good just a few lucky passers by... here comes August :bsod: spinncognito 07-29-2006, 02:09 PM had a coupla nice fish around the full moon earlier this month but I'd say it has been a "typical" July for me. ridler72 07-29-2006, 02:10 PM I did good during the full moon period in July. For me, this new moon period has been pretty much dead. It's a tough pill to swallow crusing through inshore bumpy structure with nothing happening. Like a waist land. Years previous it was on for the new moon action close to shore starting in July. Hope for a better August. :gu: stripersnipr 07-29-2006, 02:41 PM This morning gave July a substantial boost in ranking. Three cows in three hours and home for a nap by 9:00 A.M. In The Surf 07-29-2006, 03:46 PM Haven't gotten out that much through July but the fish I have been catching are like the ones Dave has caught, small compared to previous July's. shadow 07-29-2006, 05:30 PM it's been better then june, some what consistent droped a few nice fish and the rest are mostly in the teens,a few schoolies.last year I didn't get skunked once in july or august Flaptail 07-29-2006, 07:08 PM I'm not complaining. Ditto on that George! Roseneath 07-29-2006, 08:38 PM July has been great... until this week. Water temp at NPT is 75:crying: Its time to get some sleep and work done around the house. Christian 07-29-2006, 10:34 PM not bad the past 2 weeks for me. tonight was my 1st skunking in a while..i was not feeling it so i left early. nightfighter 07-30-2006, 07:16 AM It's been a lot of nothing going on from the beaches of the north shore....... One fish since returning from Cuttyhunk..... Backbeach Jake 07-30-2006, 07:40 AM Extremely slow this year. Saved by fluke yesterday. Man, that 17.5 rec limit can be tough. And blues! they're everywhere! Rob Rockcrawler 07-30-2006, 12:30 PM This july has pretty much sucked compared to the last two. Granted i have only fished half as much but its been a tough month. Johneeed 07-30-2006, 05:03 PM July for me ALWAYS SUXS!!!!!!!! both sweet and salt.... Vogt 07-30-2006, 09:16 PM hundreds of ratty blues, some schoolies, etc. Even my best big fish spots are skunkin' me. jmonte45 07-30-2006, 09:50 PM I got a few 20# fish this month, but I put in a lot of hours to do it. Not completely satistied, but I am still going strong. Heading out again in the am to try it again. Not happy to hear everyone else having same results, but refreshing to think that its not necessarily my fishing skills causing my problems. Skitterpop 07-31-2006, 06:27 AM Hot and sunny Nebe 07-31-2006, 07:47 AM I did not catch a single striped bass this july.. but then agian i didnt go fishing once this july :( JFigliuolo 07-31-2006, 07:48 AM poor for me. Slow to non-existant. BigFish 07-31-2006, 07:51 AM Poor for sure.....nights were nothing but dinks where I was and damn few of them, Cutty was also slow.....gonna do a light sunrise/sunset regimen for August and hit the fall running! The Iceman 6 07-31-2006, 07:57 AM Great on boat, so/so in the surf... Moses 07-31-2006, 08:14 AM Beginning thru mid was very good. Middle to end has been sllloooww on the bass front although plenty of blues. pmueller 07-31-2006, 08:19 AM its smokin now. my arms hurt keeperreaper 07-31-2006, 08:20 AM So so for stripers very decent for tuna. Sluggoslinger 07-31-2006, 11:24 AM I only got out 4 times in July and never got skunked. I'd say that the first half of July was much better then the second half. Seems like the fish have disappeared from the monomoy area lately. We managed 3 keepers on saturday but with allot of effort. The water temp was anywhere from 49 - 62 as the tide pushed through. Dog fish were awfull as well. BillyBlanks 07-31-2006, 03:17 PM its smokin now. my arms hurt Where are you guys getting hits? I havent gotten much up here but a few schoolies. Sucks not having a boat. Anyone have any spots that I can get to from the North End with no car? Went to my parent's house in CT and nailed a 21 lb striper and a 10 lb blue on the fly rod in the sound. Mass hasn't treated me too well though. Sluggoslinger 08-01-2006, 08:11 AM Where are you guys getting hits? I havent gotten much up here but a few schoolies. Sucks not having a boat. Mass hasn't treated me too well though. They have been seen feeding at the 4 point channel from the walkway. MrHunters 08-01-2006, 08:26 AM I would have to say consistent with a spatter of skunks and a dash of my best ever :). Logged many hours in july so the average still may be low. Had alot of fun nontheless. Homerun04 08-01-2006, 01:38 PM Best bluefishing I've ever had....... :wall: :wall:   :wall: :wall: nightprowler 08-01-2006, 01:58 PM started out great, didn't get to fish much in the middle of the month, and then ended with a bang last night:bl: although im paying for it at work today BillyBlanks 08-02-2006, 02:39 PM They have been seen feeding at the 4 point channel from the walkway.
