Man what a morning up in Hull, Quincy and then Hingham to end the day. I'll bet I caught close to, or over 100 stripers between 5:30 and 11:30 when I just plain ran out of energy. I launched in Higham at the 3A ramp, ran to Hull Gutt and when I turned the corner heading towards Quincy, I couldn't believe my eyes. From the shore of Peddocks Island, out 100-200 yards and almost the entire length of the island, nothing but busting fish on top. I probably caught 20 fish in the first 20 minutes on a chrome Chug Bugg and then figured it would be safer (no trebles) to switch over to my 7 inch hand poured jerkbaits. Until about 8:30 I kid you not, it was a fish on every cast.

I usually get 5-10 fish per jerkbait, because of the corkscrew baitholder I use, but I damn near ran out of baits by 11:30. I poured up about 50 baits when I got home, because I'm hoping for a repeat on Monday morning. My elbows and shoulders are so sore and my thumb looks like it went through a meat grinder. I can't thank you enough for the report you posted earlier this week, because I had every intension of hitting my usual haunts between Scituate and Cohasset. When I saw your post, I just had to give that a try and man am I glad I did. Surprisingly few small schoolies to, most were nice chuncks between 20-27 inches, with a maybe 4 that probably would have kept.

I'm beat now, but I did want to extend my thanks, I owe you one. Tight lines.

It was more than a rush, now if they had only been 20-30 lbers, lol. That's alright thou, all those inches add up to a lot of pounds. I'm headed out again Monday morning, hopefully the weather won't turn nasty. If your out there keep your eyes peeled for the nut in the freshwater bass boat, tight lines.

Did you get out this morning Fisherwomen, was the bite fast again? Just curious what today was like, since I'm headed up that way again tomorrow morning. Bringing an old friend from Scituate, who doesn't get out much because of his work schedule. I'm hoping it's still fast and furious, so he can have a memorable day.

Tight lines.

Yes the bite is still on, just got home after 15 hours on the water, what a day, had fish all day long, although they were a little more spooky today over at walloston, over by the 1st pier at the airprot we got into alot of decent size fish, to keeper size, with blues mixed in, alot of bait up in that area, It would be definately worth it to go there tomorrow and check that spot, all fish were on top water again, same lures as before. Gotto go to bed been up since 4. Good luck!!!!!

Thanks for the report, I'm just getting started (3:40am), but I did want to check the board quickly before grabbing my coffee and heading out. I'll have to check over by the airport, I never made my way over there Saturday, but then again there wasn't any need to, lol.

I'm sure you will sleep well, that's a long day, tight lines.

If only they were 30lbers, lol. Another 100+ fish morning from 6:30 to 11:30 around Peddocks Island in Hull. As fast as I could cast my plastic jerkbait into the feeding fish, they would jump on the bait. I'm glad I poured up another 50 count on Saturday night, because I used 3/4 of that bag today. Watched a father & son cast swimmers with limited success, so I moved alongside and rigged up my jerkbait on his sons rod. Showed him how to rig it, left him a couple hooks and a handfull of baits after a brief presentation lesson and immediate hookup. Watched him land a couple fish immediately on it before we parted company. He had a big smile on his face after hooking up beside me a couple of times. Don't know if this picture is him or not, but the boils will be appreciated [image=http://www.rgsiroisco/boils.jpg]

Now if I could only locate schools of large ones like that, I'd be a happy camper. Got to wash off my boat, it smells like the fish pier, tight lines.

I know what you meen about those sore arms, we got over 250 fish yesterday, up to 30 inches, but there were definatley bigger ones around. A gentlemen took a 48", 46 1/2lb striper off the brewsters yesterday, on a popper with 14lb test fireline, What a beautiful fish!!!!! So there are bigger fish around, sounds like you never made it to the airport, LMAO this is really incredible isn't it, what a sweet thing, hope fully they will be around for a while, there is alot of baby bunker around, we snagged some yesterday, about 2" long. Great photo, took some myself yesterday, all I can say is "LIFE IS GOOD" Tight lines my freind!!!!

I meant to get over to the airport, but everytime I started over that way, another school would be busting in front of the boat and you know how hard it is to ignore a school of busting stripers, lol. Did catch a few bigger fish, but they were definately running a little smaller today vs Saturday. Didn't matter, on the medium-light spinning tackle I had myself a ball. I'm going to try to sneek in a morning later this week and maybe I will put blinders on, or some really dark polaroids, so I don't see anything on the way to the airport, lol.

Back in the late eighties it was the same thing, but back then you had 14 inch bunker that filled the entire bay and the schools of busting fish were large fish. Back then I didn't have to travel far for the large ones. I used to launch in Hingham, set my gill net once or twice and drag live ones around Button Island and the flat in front. Every trip back then meant several nice fish and loads of big blues. I really miss that type of fishing, nother more thrilling than watching a big wake behind your poggie, watching the fish zig-zag back and forth trying to decide whether or not to take the bait. Times have changed, but I can't complain after a weekend like this one.

Thanks again for steering me up that way, tight lines.

Hey got Stripers last year around this time we slammed them at the mouth of the Weir River. They were on the small bunker and plastics worked the best. I saw some bigger fish in the channel coming out of the ramp in Hingham too where it takes that sharp left. If their not around Peddocks they sometimes go around the Sunset Point area. Good Luck by the way Minots was slow Sunday morning but the cod fishing was great.

Will not be talking Inches here !!! You can have those toy school bass!! The real fish come out at night!!! Read on.

Last night was just one of those nights you dream about!! It was good saturdy night but I was pleasntly surprised with the size of the bass last night!! I had 8 fish biggest being 43lbs smallest 22lbs also got "smoked" by a couple of cho-cho trains!! My friend and partner steve had a like number of bass his largest was a 30lber on the nose, fantastic night, dont see many of those anymore.Oh,Ya,all fish caught on eels!!! We just decided to try this spot for kicks and gigles! Sometimes those things work out.I wonder how many places are holding fish that just are going unfished?? I just hope they stay there for the week or until we lose the tide!!
Best thing is we were ALONE!!In paradise, most fisherman wait to fish this spot until late october!! If they only new....

Bait was all over the place so thick, you could have walked on it to block island!! we fished both nights from the last of the flood until the first two hours of the ebb.The fall is getting off to a great start!!

Oh Ya, my arms are sore also!! Hey, got (schoolies)sorry got stripers,How many of those toys does it take to weigh 4olbs?? and I caught my fish from shore!! Tweak!!!! Keep chasin those rats!! I will take care of the big girls!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice night, #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&........Unfortunately, I did have the luck this weekend that others had, hit Duxbury Beach very early AM on Monday, a few guys fishing, little action, lots of skates AGAIN. Did miss one LARGE fish, pole bent over, thought it was a bird flying thru the line, saw the fish surface, its tail was about 5-6" across, but it never came back.. oh well.

Nice night #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&, don't think I'd rather have been alongside rather than chasing the little ones. But then again, I'm still having fun and that's what its all about. None of us get up at rediculous hours to go have a BAD TIME, just a difference of opinion as to what a good time is. With all the bait in the harbors, there's got to be some bigger fish taking advantage of the supply, just a matter of time or should I say timing. Actually it's more likely location, but hard for me to leave that kind of action to look elsewhere. If I didn't enjoy it I would, but on light tackle I found that to be a ball.

My next trip up will probably be with my 13 year old, because he suddenly (after my report ha) is interested in fishing with me again. I used to take him every weekend, until he decided girls and hanging with his friends was more fun. He certainly won't be disappointed by the size of those fish and will have himself a ball.

Hope your fish hang in there for you, tight lines.
