Havnt started the boat since July 3. Adjusted the plugs today and went to fire it up and grrrr grr gr . Charged the battery on a trickle charger enough to start it up. Ran it for a while and it ran ok. Put the charger back on anyway. Dont think I left anything on but not sure. Will a battery normaly wear down sitting that long? Or is it on the way out.

take one of the posts off and make the connection from the post to the cable, with a test lamp. if the lamp lights there's a draw.

batteries are cheap. take it to autozone they'll load test it for nill.

Do a load test like mentioned, if it is weak junk it. Don't scew around with them they will crap out just when you need the friggin thing.

I just replace mine this summer and bought the newer AGM battery after reading a lot about batteries. So far they seem great but time will tell. They can take a pounding are sealed can be mounted in nearly any position and even work submerged (I have not check that claim)

Thanks for the tips. Charged it up. Ran the boat awhile with accesories on. No problem. Did the the test lamp test. Nada. Then took it to my local marine store and had them test it under load. Good to go and $100 for gas still in my pocket.

Put a meter on it and start it. If it drops below 10V is got as dead cell... junk it...
