Well I went this morning, got to the canal around 430. I hooked up on my third drift, a nice fat 30ish fish. I let him go, thinking it's early I got plenty of herring. Well got the skunk the rest of the morning. I did'nt see anyone else with fish. Talked to some guys peddling by they said it was slow. I ran up to my truck to get something, and I saw a particular white van. I went back up a half hour later the van had dissapeared. So I went to Oregon beach, and there was alot of people there, and no fish. I stopped back by the canal on the way back, I saw the white van again and decided to stop and say hello. Well I parked in front of said van around 1100, and made my way down to the canal to look for the driver. I did'nt see him after walking west, then east, so I returned to my truck. The van was gone, only 15 minutes had passed, he must have been in stealth mode. I guess thats how he got his Slippery screen name. :laughs:

Bill, I had a feeling that was ya truck. I was east at the muscle bed when you went west, then I left a little after 11. I was there with Newell Guy, met him at Bell rd.

I biked by the run early AM and did not see you, I looked for ya. Went to cribbin and back. I got the skunk again today and I tried the skins too. Canal was deadsville today.

Well, gee, now I don't feel so bad being at Duxbury, also getting the skunk, and thinking, "I've been at the canal 3 times in the past week, I'm here today, and they're probabaly killing em in the Ditch....."

Saw one fish at about 30" caught off the bridge, heard of on other at about 28", some small ones, and two guys in a boat fishing the enitre bay, that finally got into two keepers when they found birds......

Oh well, I'm going back to Rhody in a couple days......

Don't bother with the Charlestown Breachway, the lack of a worm hatch seems to be keeping the fish away. There is fish, but NOTHING compared to years past. Stick to spots with herring passing by. Good luck....
