Pogie head, actually the whole front half of the pogie, caught me my biggest fish so far from shore. Also I agree Big Stripes love the pogie heads it's what the bluefish leave behind for them. Real short leader like 8" a big ass 9-10/0 hook.Short leader keeps the bait pinned to the bottom no flopping around an helps u cast a little better.The key is fresh an plenty of it. Lots of big fish on heads.:drool: Fillets of either macks or pogies are killer too.All that exposed flesh is sending out mucho scent . ProfessorM 08-19-2006, 01:24 PM Heads are all we used to fish in the canal in years past. Drift them. We would chum all the rest and use only the heads. Usually always a big fish too, never really caught small fish on heads. We used to open up fish that we caught and they would be full of heads that people would throw away in the water.
