View Full Version : Gibbs Polaris Lure gone fishin 08-21-2006, 11:05 AM Anyone date this lure by chance? The address on the back label carries a Billerica Address. Mike P 08-21-2006, 12:12 PM Late 80s/early 90s. Jim Griecci bought the company from John Gibbs in that time frame, and made them from Billerica for the first year or two, before moving to Yarmouth. gone fishin 08-21-2006, 04:06 PM Thanks Mike - I thought it was just about that time frame- I didn't know that they actually were made in Billerica. Good info. By the way - if there are any fishermen on this site from the Gloucester area, there is a fish store on Bearskin Neck - It is on the right hand side about half way down the neck. Just before the opening leading to Motif. He has a bunch of these for sale -- 5 bucks each. He has polaris in variious sizes and colors. (Colors are limited) Pencil poppers various again and some Bob Ponds Atoms. Atoms are almost all gone. He also has Cod jigs in various weights - 2 bucks each. He told me he bought out a bait shop about ten years ago and wants to get rid of these! :musc: capesams 08-21-2006, 04:17 PM I'll take all the plugs..gibbs and atoms if your going back..lets talk. stiff tip 08-22-2006, 06:56 PM buy them all ,,,there worth 3 x that now, mike i have some from billerica in the package,,not many made there Mike P 08-23-2006, 09:10 AM LIke an idiot, I took all of my Gibbs from their original packages (with both Sagamore and Billerica addies) and put them in huge Plano boxes. Years ago. :wall: I never figured on them becoming gems. Mainly because I never figured on Gibbs quality going down the crapper. They're probably still in my regular fishing rotation, too. capesams 08-23-2006, 10:53 AM made contact with the owner ....soon to have a new owner.:hee: thefishingfreak 08-23-2006, 11:24 AM good news  tobias 08-23-2006, 11:46 AM :jump: vineyardblues 08-23-2006, 12:00 PM IS CS SMILING AGAIN :jump1: VB capesams 08-23-2006, 07:35 PM when the truck full lands in my driveway only then will I :) and after sorting I may even:jump1: then box them all up and stuff them away for the 25 years. thefishingfreak 08-23-2006, 10:51 PM jesus.... i read this as "you" were the new owner of "gibbs" later{tonight} i realize your the new owner of a few new gibbs "plugs" nice score btw. and thank you for re-uniting me with my cameras. i'm slow:poke:  capesams 08-24-2006, 06:21 AM your welcome...you owe slip a plug too:hee: Flaptail 08-24-2006, 05:44 PM when the truck full lands in my driveway only then will I :) and after sorting I may even:jump1: then box them all up and stuff them away for the 25 years.
