Hi, John. A few weeks ago we were talking about how the good weather might speed up the season. Now I'm wondering if the fish will ever make it up to Maine. I was originally planning to start fishing in the river on May 13, but I'm afraid I may be a few weeks too early. Anybody have any opinions of what this weather is going to do to us?

Hi Marty,To give you some insight,Things here in rhode island are about two weeks behind the norm.I would use that as a guide to when your fishing will begin.By the end of may you should be feeling a tight line.

Northeast winds are the worst thing that can happen this time of year. The bass are not established yet and,the winds just keep things behind. When the season is in full swing, the wind is only a temporary setback. This time of the year its a major deal.Be patient, they will come!!!!

Thank you, #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&, even though the news is not what I hoped to hear. I'm looking forward to finally fishing with Bill B this summer in Maine. I hope you guys can make it over to Ogunquit when you make your pilgrimage up north this year.

Hey MartyK. We'll keep you informed on when things start to heat up around here. May be a good indicator for your way. Of course if you start in middle May, you can be the first one to land some brities!!!

I am hoping to make a couple runs north - so I'll let you know...
