Whilst on my trip to MV i picked up a fishing charter brochure. On it, it said that they fish for fluke and in parenthese was Summer flounder.

Are fluke and flounder the same thing? I've never actually fished for fluke but I have for flounder in the summer... would that be fluke?

are fluke around gloucester?

thanks for setting this straight :lurk:

Fluke have a big mouth and sharp teeth. Flounder have "rubbery lips" with no teeth.
I think you were catching winter flounder.

fluke are summer flounder
what most in boston area call flounder are winter flounder.
if that is not confusing enough, add the sole.
because all sole are flounder, but all flounder are not sole.
They all taste good to me.
