my gun club is in the process of switching from lead shot to steel shot. :realmad: i still don't know why they are only doing this for the skeet/ trap shooters and not for the outdoor pistol/ long range shooters either.

i'm wondering if anybody knows of a place to buy 8 shot steel in 12 gauge on the cheap. i think i'll be taking a considerable hit in the wallet.

and how about loading my own shells vs. continuing to buy cases?

Sorry, wont/don't use steel.
Lead only for practice,,,, Bismuth for the kill (on foul).
Steel is light, cuts my distance, and costly for practice (even if reloading).
Bismuth is admittedly costly. Only a couple boxed per year, better range, patterns closer to lead, and it's usable in my hammer guns, and BPs.
