If you saw the fish in person, I wonder how the poll would go also. Just goes to show you you can't tell by a picture how big fish are by the picture alone. I'll tell tomorrow. NIB 09-05-2006, 05:53 AM Not worryin bout that what ever happens happens Plus I have a wedding to go to that day. OK now to the poll. Maybe my tip was not explained well enough. Raven 09-05-2006, 08:00 AM of course i measured a hat first....blew up the picture and re measured it with a computer always on top ruler.... but only came up with 25.5 of course i didn't account for that huge brain in that tremendous noggin underneath it... better make it 26 inches.:kewl: MrHunters 09-05-2006, 08:32 AM 29 Saltheart 09-05-2006, 09:36 AM 29 Slipknot 09-05-2006, 11:25 AM OK everyone, I'll end the suspense. Only 4 people got it correct so far. Professor Moriarty you were the second vote to get it correct. 35 inches was how big it was. Very deceiving, when I saw the pic I thought I made a mistake so I measured the fish again. It wasn't held out away from me very far at all. Danny took the picture from the front of my little boat. Maybe that has something to do with why P.Moriarty got it right since he knows my boat and me. Anyway , that was fun. next time we'll do the weight of another fish sometime. Skitterpop 09-05-2006, 11:30 AM :hee: Finaddict 09-05-2006, 11:32 AM Never would have guessed 35, in fact, I didn't :hee: I guessed much smaller as it looked decieving, thinking the arms were stretched out. :fishslap: macojoe 09-05-2006, 11:34 AM Dam I knew it!! But the Professor took my pick :crying: zacs 09-05-2006, 11:35 AM i had guessed 34". After reading all of the other guesses i was starting to doubt myself. Ask Throwing Timber, he will confirm. ivanputski 02-13-2012, 06:47 PM 23 inches... look at his hand size compare to mouth WoodyCT 02-13-2012, 06:49 PM About yay big. My hands are 2' apart. Nice fish !! fcap60 02-14-2012, 12:20 PM around 29" Saltheart 02-14-2012, 12:34 PM 44" 36 pounds Slipknot 02-14-2012, 09:14 PM OK guys, it looks like Professor Moriarty gets it again. I recall this fish going 45-1/2" long, Throwing Timber put it at about 42 pounds, I say 40. It took me about 13 minutes to land it, once Vic grabbed it I saw it was almost 4 feet long I knew why it took so long to get the fish in. Old Man took the photo so don't yell at me about the poor angle, I didn't even know he was shooting it. I think Tony Orlando knows how small fish look when I hold them, if he was holding it, it would appear to be a fifty ;) Anyone who doesn't believe how long it is, well, tough. It's deceiving isn't it? I will try to do one by pounds someday. thanks for playing again. I think by some of the responses, some may not have read the whole thread before guessing. Slipknot 02-14-2012, 09:19 PM was the tape used to measure the second fish the same one that was used to measure the first fish? it appears to have been missing at least 8" from one end ..need to factor that in :) I'll check on that and get back to ya :) sidelinner 02-16-2012, 05:26 PM 22" on the money!
