View Full Version : Is $18-20 each a fair price for a nice S-B T-Shirt?
JohnR 09-21-2006, 11:54 PM I know I'll get some flak for this but is $18-20 each a fair price for a nice S-B T-Shirt? For the long overdue and after much harrasment :tooth:
One with the logo on front and a large multi-color picture on the back?
I need to know before I pull the trigger on a deal. A handful of people have seen some early artwork that I did and I - no sheet - have a couple hundred hours of my own time to do this shirt so its definitely not a "quickie"
Thanks,
John
fishaholic18 09-22-2006, 12:05 AM Seems fair to me.
Why u up so late??:hidin:

RickBomba 09-22-2006, 12:33 AM I toooaaals you!
Charge me $30 like for the hat me and Mikey got from Cafe express, I'll still freaking pay up.
Money is no object.
Love,
Robin Leach
Moses 09-22-2006, 01:57 AM Nice quality "T" for $18-20 is a bargain.
Skitterpop 09-22-2006, 01:58 AM If very high quality and nice design....not too high. You`ll need to get some 2XXs into a few 4XXXXs don`t forget :rtfm:
piemma 09-22-2006, 03:51 AM I think the operative word here is "quality". I have far too many fishing shirts that shrink up to the size of a kids shirt after a couple of washings. The best quality shirts I have found are the ones with the Guy Harvey art works on the back. They never shrink. I have a couple of his Striper drawing shirts that are 6 or 7 years old and still fit and look great.
John, I'll PM you and let you know the brand name.
UserRemoved1 09-22-2006, 04:23 AM that is a fair deal John, I think you'd do better if you did like tht and sell em for $30 each and make $10 for the site on them.
MrHunters 09-22-2006, 05:29 AM does it come with a s-b bumber sticker? :jump:
whats the too much too many years late option about?
Raider Ronnie 09-22-2006, 05:44 AM Thats fair John!
I just had a whole bunch shirts made up for my charters, and I know what it cost !
The set up, paying someone to come up with the art work and then making the silk screens is not cheap, then the actual printing the shirts is not bad over time !
Karl F 09-22-2006, 05:46 AM OK on the dough.. maybe loose the art on back..
small logo on front would be classy, with plain back.
colored shirt :uhuh: or white ?
beamie 09-22-2006, 05:48 AM Athletic cut please, XXX
Slingah 09-22-2006, 05:48 AM :jump:
sounds good boss......
BEETLE 09-22-2006, 06:09 AM 18-20, No problem John
Flaptail 09-22-2006, 06:20 AM As most tee shirts in a xxl cost more by two bucks usually, will that be the same for this one? (Actually I lost 22 pounds so far this summer but winter is coming and being a carnivore I can feel the need to pack on some winter "insulation" so the xl thing might not cut it) thanks just curious.
GBOUTDOORS 09-22-2006, 06:50 AM Good price for good shirt but do I need to order one now for lets say Xmass 2010?:soon:
Raven 09-22-2006, 06:51 AM of t-shirts
the kind for dressier occasions that you'd never want fish blood
on .....and are a light color...
(well until their old and almost worn out)
the thick type that are still keeping you warm on a very brisk day
and the muscle T-shirt....which seem to have a more comfortable
fit...a thinner (like a favorite old t-shirt) material used to make it.
but in my opinion....a T-shirt without a front pocket absolutely sucks.
you find yourself trying to put things in a front pocket that isn't there.
the price is fine.... especially if its to help support running S-B....
desirability is more often based apon the quality of the artwork.
LT. DAN 2 09-22-2006, 07:15 AM Any chance for a long sleeve version as most of my fishing is in the spring/fall season. An upcharge would be in order of $7-10.00. over the short sleeve version.
With shipping included its not a bad price - with $4 more dollars tacked on for shipping it becomes a tough sell.
Slipknot 09-22-2006, 07:25 AM 20 bucks for the shirt you are proposing is fine, especially when you consider the number of colors silkscreened into it. I'll take two please in double extra large. :uhuh:
short sleeve is fine. No pocket is fine also. it's a t-shirt.
I think everyone will appreciate the amount of work you put into it.
RIJIMMY 09-22-2006, 07:29 AM thumbs up from me
reelecstasy 09-22-2006, 07:32 AM 2 double XXl's for me boss man..... like robin leach said, money is no object ..unless the old lady hears about it :hidin:
Megabyte 09-22-2006, 08:21 AM I would need 2.
One for "dress" and one for "play".
Oh, what a great christmas gift.
I in.
pal156 09-22-2006, 08:55 AM nice price, please make it a pocket tshirt.
:thanks: :claps: :btu:
tynan19 09-22-2006, 09:02 AM Is it the logo on the top right of the page with the SB and Flag?
Finaddict 09-22-2006, 09:16 AM Sounds good ...
fishsmith 09-22-2006, 09:35 AM I like Salty's idea , -
I think you'd do better if you did like tht and sell em for $30 each and make $10 for the site on them.
Starfish 09-22-2006, 09:46 AM Definitely would like a t-shirt and maybe even a long sleeve. Don't mind paying the price for the tee, and for a long sleeve that would have to be about 7-10 dollars more! I don't need an XL though!;)
Jimbo 09-22-2006, 10:05 AM That's a fair price range. You pay that for a decent T-shirt in some tackle shops.
Redsoxticket 09-22-2006, 11:36 AM Fair price as you indicated, like $18 for short sleeve, $20. long sleeve
As far as additional $10 to site not a good idea. There is always raffles, TFCTFN, donating w/ free will, etc.
No pockets, I like the clean look. The pocket changes color differntly then t-shirt upon washings and material crunches up in the area of the stitches.
:usd: You can always carry your smokes rolled in the sleeves like prisoners. If you do put pockets then can I have a collar so that I can wear a tie:usd:
I'll order two in large for now
InTheHole 09-22-2006, 11:54 AM Count me in, I have paid more for t-shirts that were not worth $5
( I am a sucker for bar room t-shirts, usually way overpriced and poor quality) are you going to have kids sizes available?
BassyiusMaximus 09-22-2006, 11:58 AM I have never considered buying any sort of shirt no matter what the subject or internet forum, however, because this site is one of my favorites, I'd pay for one no problem. This site is great and despite not really knowing anyone, the information and entertainment is fantastic. Of course, we'll be able to view the proposed shirt beforehand, right?
I got a nice striped bass shirt from Soft as a Grape on the Cape, the colors were red, white and blue on the striper, red-white and bass I told my girl and she laughed, for the clearance price of $5 I was in. Only wish I bought more.
In The Surf 09-22-2006, 12:55 PM $18 seems fair for multi color, most of the ones I see on a quality Tee run $16-$18.
In The Surf 09-22-2006, 01:04 PM How about another run of hats? I know the first small batch was basically done by members quite some time ago but at this point with the site the size it is at and the amount of participation that takes place it would seem to make sense to offer hats and tees. Would like to see the same hat too if possible. I liked the fact that some members had theirs monogramed. Just a thought as an added option, site hat (S-B) with your board name on it.
Rockport24 09-22-2006, 01:13 PM I would love an S-B shirt! When do you get to see it John??!!
The price is fair. Sign me up for one I am sick of every dam fishing shirt here having OBX on it. They have no idea how good the fishing is up that way.....:fishslap:
nightfighter 09-22-2006, 04:56 PM If you build it, they will come........
Once you have the initial work done, the printing is the same, be it a short sleeve, with or without pockets, long sleeve etc.... Just be sure the first run does not create a deficit.
numbskull 09-22-2006, 05:02 PM How about a wife-beater with a hole in it..................so I can fit in if I go to Montauk.
bloocrab 09-22-2006, 05:19 PM ...are there any nekked people on it? What about a glimpse of the shirt?.....:D
Bazza 09-22-2006, 08:20 PM John for these much anticipated T-shirts, I'm sure people would pay a few bucks more , if some of the money went towards maintaining the SB site. Hopefully, no pockets on them.
Raider Ronnie 09-22-2006, 08:47 PM John,
Can I trade you one for one of mine ???
JohnR 09-22-2006, 08:52 PM John,

JohnR 09-22-2006, 09:25 PM I was planning on sending you one !!!
