Ok. I hit my 20 hrs on my 115 suzuki in 5 days.
Called the service deptartment and they said as long as I stay under 35-40 hrs we can do the initial maintence and winterization in one shot to save you some money.

I asked if there were warranty issues waiting that long, what the potential problems could be etc etc.

He said he just did one at 45hrs, there really isnt anything to worry about. So if you think thats all your going to be doing in the next month or so, id wait.

What do you guys think? Im probably going to be in my tub for the next 1.5 months... given weather conditions.... I assume good days are going to be fewer given the time of year but you never know??

I think I waited until 35 hrs for my new honda 150 this year... It was no problem at all for me. My mechanic was busy putting boats in this spring and i couldn't just let it sit there while I waited. you'll be fine. You could always change the oil on your own if you're worried...

I agree with changing the oil, it is all they are really going to do anyway and winterizing is easy, if you are mechanically inclined at all. They might drop your lower unit oil and put new stuff in. They might take your prop off, re-lube the splines and put it back on. They might check your valve clearances and adjust if necessary, but I'll bet they will just start up the motor, listen to the top end and not do a thing because unless you had run and continued to run your motor at WOT, you haven't a need to even check and adjust.
They might replace your water pump impeller too, I doubt it, not with that many miles/hours on your engine.

If it were me, I'd do it all myself as I have been for years, however, if I were not to do it/could not do it, I'd wait and do it all at once, save the $$$, you won't hurt your motor.

he did say something about, the first 20 hr maintence HAS to be done by a certified suzuki mechanic for warranty purposes.

minus checking the valves, im sure i could do all that myself. but ill let the initial get taken care of...

i stayed very strict to the break in period so i should be good.
I don't need to go WOT too often... this motor has some pretty big walnuts when i goose it.
