Reminder that Saturday at King Cove in Stonignton (directions to follow) will be the S-B Tourney Rhode Island Leg Cookout followed by fishing. Don @ King Cove has also stated that the RI Leg Winner will get a new Fishing Rod :btu:

So come and meet some fellow anglers and have a chance to win a rod!

Thanks!

John

2:30 pm King Cove Outfitters, Stonginton , CT (just over the CT/RI line)

Directions here on their site: http://www.kingcoveoutfitters.com/content/contact_content/contact_index.html

The fishing afterward is shore fishing, Catch & Release. The C&R Tourney - free - Members can enter and just need to be members of S-B for more than a week with 10 posts (exception this weekend for any of the plug guys as long as they fish with S-B members). Largest verified C&R fish over 36 inches count.

I'm going to bring some burgers and rolls. Please if you are coming, try to bring something as everyone pitches in a little and we do this all for free...

Hope there's a better turn out than the last couple of Rhody legs.

John

I will in all likelyhood be a bit late at best. Any idea how late do you think you will be in Stonington before heading out for the night?

Not going to make this leg...kids this weekend til OTW fest.

Anyone who intends on fishing hard in difficult access areas this leg, you might want to join up with rphud. I can tell you first hand that Bob put in many hours and miles on Cutty. He was also the last one back to the club before we left for the ferry home, fishing right to the end. Always good to have a mobile, hardcore partner when fishing out of your home waters. The fact that he's good people doesn't hurt either... not that we would know through his 19 posts since 2001:rotfl:

Dave - Sorry I can't help here, have to do family stuff up in VT of all places - still struggling with the concept, but just clearing some way for next weekend and the following series of weeks after that .

Unforutnately, 19 posts is just a sorry reminder of how little time I have been able to spend fishing over these years up here. Got out more frequently when we lived in NJ, but because of my life situation at the time not that the fishing is better. Also probably why when I do get out, I stay out. With all the kids away at school now it should free me up more. Hasn't happen yet, but there is still Oct and Nov, and Dec if make the trek back to NJ (bro has a boat now, even though those fish don't count). Anyways, hopefully will be up to Stonington and RI for "dooms 'til dawn". Where will breakfast be at? P.S. rest assured, if there is news I will post and not burn spots.

I have a dinner date with the wife tommorow night so unable to fish the tourney. I will be in the area in the morning and can stop by for the cookout on the way home. I'll bring something to chew and drink.

If it works, I could pick up the 'prize pluggage' too and solve the shipping problem :jump:
