in our waters up here on the north shore there are these jellyfish looking things... MILLIONS of them on the surface. does anyone know what they are... harmful?

They are just clogging up the whole harbor, so thick you can barely see through them. Annoying but probably not dangerous.

Little clear things? Sea Sprites? They've been washing up at the Race, looks like a booger blitz.

how do they effect the fishing? I have not done well fishing through them.

They gum up your line real bad. Near impossible to get off too. But if you make your line real tight and pluck it like a guitar string it will flick off most of it.

i havent caught squat when they are around.

sooo annoying, they've been around for about a month or two as far as i can tell

kind of afraid to put my hand in the water... it so thick with these things.

i wish that globe article had a better picture... not sure if we are talking about the same thing... some parts sound the same others don't

i heard on the news here in RI they attach themself to each other sometimes up to 1/2 mile long but not harmfull:conf:
