Only ten days to go and I would like to get the trip over all set. I know John R, SALTYDOG, CHRIS L are all set. GOOSE, Specialist, BLOO are going over on the ALERT II. Now how about SALTHEART, SMOKEY, CLAMDIGGER, MILO, SLIPKNOT, GOT STRIPERS, RED CRBBR, ANTHONYN, NIGHTFIGHTER, DAVE S. ??? I have res. for ten on SAT. to go over and ten for Sun. back but if all are going on the ALERT that would be 13 and I will need to get three more res. to be sure all get over for the derby. Also if the boat is filling up this FRI. I will need to prepay for the res. but only if it looks like it is getting full. I will take care of this but would really like to know for sure how many are going on the ferry. I don't want to sound like a haunt about this but I don,t want anyone mad at me if they can't get over because the boat gets full :smash: I have 7 dz eels swimming over with me if that is not enough say so now also any other bait you might want me to bring over???:happy: :happy: :happy: :happy: :D

I use the New Bedford City Public Landing which is on East Rodney French Boulevard, Next to the "Billy Woods Wharf".
Parking across the street where the Ferry Boat to the Vineyard has its parking.

Nightfighter had asked about making coffee that would be good I use instant but please feel free to bring what ever you like I will have the house open so we can use the kitchen. Nightfighter could you take care of this coffee, creamer(powder), sugar, and maybe some cups???

Sorry It took me so long to get back to ya, my PC took a nose dive and I've been without internet for a long time. As far as Cuttyhunk goes, I wont be able to swing it :(. I will be going to Scottsdale Arizona for my sisters wedding that week, and that kinda takes priority. Once again sorry I could'nt get a yes or no to ya's sooner. just to remind everyone going. parking will be available free of charge(well maybe a plug) at my shop. gates are locked when shop is closed up. it would be a good location for goose to run his shuttle from(there goes another plug)seeing how GB recomends we all be at the Alert by 8 am. i'd say lets try to be shutteling by 7 it's about a 15 minute ride. the gate will be open at 6 am. Shaumut Diner just up the street opens at 5 and serves up a good breakfast plate cheap. directions are as follows.
from providence
195 east to 140 north(exit 12b i think), take exit 3 (hathaway road) at the end of the ramp turn left. proceed to the first set of lights and turn left(the diner will be at the lights on your right) the shop is appx. 1/3 of a mile on the right. just look for the AMI sign or some kind of a hint(s-b cutty sign).
from points north. there are 2 ways you can run. 495 south to 195 west to 140 north. or rte 24 south to rte 140 south. it doesn't matter which direction you are coming from at the bottom of the hathaway road exit(exit 3) you still turn left. proceed to the first set of lights and turn left. appx. 1/3 of a mile on the right look for the AMI sign.

I picked up a new grill last night that is going over on the Alert today. It is one of those Thermos go anywhere ones that you can cook burgers,dogs, bacon, eggs or what ever. How about bacon and eggs Sunday morn? Can someone get say 2 dz eggs to bring over with them? And someone else bring some bacon? If not we maybe able to get some at the store on the island but they will cost big $$$.

Also they do not charge for fishing rods but any bag under 40lbs is $1.00. So they will most likely charge you for waiters as a bag and tackel box or bag.

Greg, I can get some bacon too, if someone else can bring the eggs.

I have a backpack and will try to bungee cord all my gear to it.

I have a large cooler also , so if we can combine all our refridgerated stuff to one, that may help as opposed to a bunch of small coolers. I'll bring it along and see at the shuttle place.

Sounds good Slip yes please bring the bacon and I see Chris is on the eggs so thats all set. The big cooler is also good and will only cost $1.00 to take over.

Ok it looks like we are all set I am going over with my boat on fri. and will be at the house Sat. at 10:00 or maybe meet you all at the boat. Goose knows the way to the house if I am not at the boat. We will have burgers on the grill for lunch and then maybe we can all go over to the Cuttyhunk club and check it out??? Then check out the island a little before starting the derby. Its up to you guys how we do this as it is your time on the island:happy: :happy: they also have a small history of the island display at the town hall if anyone is interested:eek:
