View Full Version : Youze guys that fish the canal UserRemoved1 10-19-2006, 03:00 PM Should be watching the next west tide. ProfessorM 10-19-2006, 03:04 PM Why did you see something in CC Bay? reelecstasy 10-19-2006, 03:08 PM Tide turns west at 8:52pm UserRemoved1 10-19-2006, 03:13 PM Professor you will want to watch this tide. I can now say I have shipped a lure to CHINA :laughs: fishsmith 10-19-2006, 03:25 PM "I can now say I have shipped a lure to CHINA " Next year at Wal-Mart - SALTS so close to wood plugs $3.47 watch for falling prices. :jester: just kidding I hope UserRemoved1 10-19-2006, 04:03 PM Fishsmith that would BE the last thing I would ever DO. Stars and Stripes forever. :) These fish was hungry. One silverside in his belly when I filleted him and nothing else what so ever. Diggin Jiggin 10-19-2006, 06:36 PM It sure would be nice if some bigger fish pushed all those twinkies out of there. UserRemoved1 10-19-2006, 07:38 PM We found ALL classes of fish today DJig. They were headed south like a freight train. I have never in my life run and gunned for bass like we had to today. Moses 10-19-2006, 07:40 PM It sure would be nice if some bigger fish pushed all those twinkies out of there. Dave - I expect you to cover the canal while I'm away travelling. How was nantucket by the way? likwid 10-19-2006, 09:13 PM 861 + conquest :hihi: Diggin Jiggin 10-19-2006, 09:26 PM I'm on it Mike, headed out now I think its gonna be a long night. PM me or call me when you get back and I'll let you know whats going on. Nantucket was ok for blues, had a nice afternoon in 10 lb class blues, but it was absolutely dead for bass. The weather sucked for the south shore, we had 20-25+wind every night, so we stuck mostly to the rips. I would never have believed this possible but we fished that surf all week, second week of october and did not get or see a single bass caught, and thats fishing 3-4 hours every night in a place that ALWAYS produces at this time of year... I'm not sure if it was the seals keeping them out of the surf or not but the seals were all over the place, at the base of the rips, even at night, all night long. There were 15 blues taken by seals in one spot one afternoon. Mike P 10-20-2006, 02:03 AM Just a continuation of TwinkiePalooza 2006. Every 50th dink, you get a hook-up with something that can actually pull of 10 yards of drag :rollem: And maybe once or twice a night, something actually halfway decent finds your jig before the clusters of schoolies start fighting over it :poke: I figured, throw big Ronz eels, or 9" Sluggos, to try to cull out the runts. Nope, not a chance :hs: I'll bet you'd have 14" bass trying to inhale a 9" Storm or Tsunami :alien: UserRemoved1 10-20-2006, 04:32 AM Sorry Mike we had no fish like that yesterday, and they were all headed south so it looked like last nites tide was going to be a good one. I wasn't jigging though :bl: Bob Thomas 10-20-2006, 05:31 AM This wind should stir things up later on today.....just remember not to be downwind of Salty Diggin Jiggin 10-20-2006, 06:12 AM MikeP, same thing where I was except I never ran into anything other than the shorts. I got frustrated and moved to a different spot but the only thing there was less shorts. Then to top it off at 2am I hit something in the road in the rain and blew a tire. Oh well, maybe tonight. DJ, Try eels instead of jigs if you can lower yourself to using them. Not getting monsters, but culling out the dinks and catching mid to high teen stuff. Was actually catching dinks on a bare jig head the other night. They will eat anything right now. Maybe try some french fries or cannolis tonight.... Crackheads and lobster poachers love that place--hard to see them doing their thing. I thought I saw a police car make a pass thru there last night, and the EPOs have also been on the job there. Last night there was a guy with his hood pulled over his face (on a warm night for October) walking thru the parking lot towards the rest room---which anyone who lives around here knows is a) closed for the year, and b) even in season, closed well before 2 AM. After trying both the men's and ladies' room doors, he walked off to the east along the service road--no rod, no tackle, hands in his pockets. Was he looking for a place to shoot up? Looking to rip someone off who was sitting on the throne and fairly helpless? If he really had to go, he could have hit the gas station up the road if he had to make "#2". ProfessorM 10-20-2006, 09:24 AM Finally dragged my arse out of bed for the second time this morning with the zombie woof behind my eyes.. :usd: Fish the canal last nite after work. Figured I might as well since I have to go over the bridge to get home. Nothing but small fish as stated before. Nice weather though. Home at 3. Was fun trying to get a 6 year old ready for the bus this morning at 8. Why does she have to be a slave to fashion at the age of 6:wall: Going to blow a gale this afternoon and tomorrow so maybe something will happen. P. The Dad Fisherman 10-20-2006, 09:37 AM Why does she have to be a slave to fashion at the age of 6:wall: Trust me.....It just gets worse. Is there anything more pathetic than a bad drag queen? I'm talking about the P-Town special out for breakfast with a 5 o' clock shadow :yak6: If you're gonna do it, do it right. -spence ProfessorM 10-20-2006, 05:59 PM My buddy who lives and fishes Sagamore beach said yesterday when he got home that their were fish from East end of canal to Sagamore to past Ellisville. Right in the surf and all the way out. Millions he said. Non stop action till dark, but all he got were small fish. That is what Salty probably saw and fished in. Too bad they never came thru with the tide. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
