Thanks to my 21 month old son I was up at 4am. My wife told me to go back to sleep but I was up and it's the fall run so off I went in search of those big boys. 8 others were on the shore in Marshfield and only schoolies were to be had. 10 caught the hard way. Not even close to the action we had in the middle of the week. Caught a few right off the bat on plugs but then the sun came up and the wind started howling and swtiched to a pearl shad. Caught a few more schoolies and then called it at 8:15am. The biggest of the group was about 27". Nothing else even close to that. I know it's going to end soon but this is a fun time of year. I'm not complaining because I'm catching lots of fish but man I wish I could get my hook into something big. OK maybe I am complaining a little. Anyone else on the South SHore getting keepers from shore? It was a nice sunrise though.

Don't give up Marshcappa, the bigger fish will come. Just gotta be there when they do. Still plenty of fish in Boston harbor as of yesterday, only a few keepers but still a ton of fish and bait around. keep trying!!!

Thanks Fisherwoman good to know the harbor is still holding fish. I'm not even close to giving up! Thanks for the encouragement. I'll keep an eye out for harbor posts.

Bob, that's even more encouraging! Keep us posted on the North Shore! My freezer is empty and my wife dosn't believe I really catch anything! Kidding on the wife thing but my freezer is pathetically empty.:af:

Went back in the afternon and 2nd cast got two big hits, I let the plug sit for a couple of seconds and then 10' in front of me the monster showed it's face and took the plug and screamed away. I finally had my hook in a corker. It made a long run towards the shore down the distance of the rock and I thought it was going to rub off. After a few glorious minutes of carefully getting him back I had him on the kelp on a ledge 5' away from me. Only his tail was in the water. The fish was in the mid 30's easily(inches). I was afraid the waves would take him away but I couldn't pull him any further on the rock without breaking my line. I was so pumped but I had to get down there ASAP. As I made my way down I slipped, the line went loose for a second and he sensed that and flopped his head, shook the plug and slid back in!!!!!!!!!!:wall: Any advice on landing fish from a rock?

How about a net? Also whenever I fish a rocky area I always try to find a place that if I got a nice fish I could go down to get it without getting hurt. Always think where will I land a fish before you start fishing. There is always option C jump in!

Not sure a net would have worked. I was postioned in what I thought was a good potential landing spot. It was dead low so everything was exposed and slippery. I haven't reached the frustration point of jumping in, but I'm getting close.:rotf3:
