If they don't want it, put it in MA....

I think it is a pretty lousy way to push it through but it is even more lousy how the Indians have been screwed by the system. I am probably voting for...

I don't live in RI so i can't vote on the issue. I could care less if they put a cassino in Warwick, BUT DON'T CHANGE THE STATES CONSTITUTION TO BUILD A CASSINO!! That is what you guys are voting on right? I hope it goes down in flames (wich all the polls show it will) A constitution should not be changed so that Sacham Thomas dude can have himself a nice cassino. :doh:

Vote NO you Rhode Islanders! Don't mess with the states Constitition to buld a Cassino. Thats freakin insane!!!

Constitution was already changed for Newport and Lincoln - a little late for that...

NOT, while Casino's do provide lots of jobs at the low end, overall they don't make the 90% rich.

Besides with the contract the state has with Newport and lincon owners, we will end up losing more in the payments due to "loss of income" from those two venues...

And that's not all---we are voting for soemthing where 99% of the people don't even know what the deal is.....

The changing the RI Constitution for one business is a complete showstopper for me.

The constitution was not changed for Newport & Lincoln. Those are state run casinos. And they are asking to change the constitution to allow privately run casinos (thats where Harrah’s comes in).

No Casino's!

be involved the gaming commission would not let a casino run privatly to much room to cheat its a gold mine in your back yard how can you say no with a casino means more jobs more hotels more jobs more cabs limos etc etc it goes on and on you all ready have casinos in every store its called the lottery look at the scratch tickets whats that maybe the state dont want to share its nothing more than newport or lincoln but on a bigger scale I am all for it VOTE YES question 1.

No -but this [IS] RI ,,

how would you like to live near the casino // values dropped 9.6 % in the last set of numbers ;;;

those properties will be just about worthless // maybe some will get lucky & receive a buyout;;

Many workers in Casino,s are transient & those that do own homes /90% are no where near the casino / many an,t even in Conn >> >>

My two cents ::: :rocketem:

Before anyone has any pity on the Narr. Tribe they should do a little research on the antics of this tribe over the past 15 years or so. One thing that comes to mind is the five or six million of fed dollars that was given to the tribe to build elderly and needy housing. What did the tribe do with that money, well that is up to you to research for yourself.

I'm voting NO on the casion. We don't need a casion in RI. As for changing the constitution to please the Indians, what do we do next year, change for the Spanish, then the Italians, then the Irsh and so on.
We'll be changing it every year theres an election. First the Indains said the profits would go for Tax Relief, now its education. They don't mention that the profits will be paid AFTER the costs are deducted. How long is going to be before the cost of sum billion dollars is paid off? They don't say. Then when its time to pass out the profits, they close it and open another in some other state. Like the governor said," the two gamblin spots we have already, were stuck with", we don't anymore.
JMHO!!!!!

Last poll I read had the proposal behind by 15 points. Harrahs has began backing off on the advertising.

The casino has less chance than Lincoln Chaffee.
