View Full Version : Stolen Rod and Reel Report
1dozenraw 11-01-2006, 06:29 PM :behead: Lamiglas two piece 9' MH Spinning rod with a 706Z. The 706Z is out fitted with a black 704Z spool loaded with fireline. Low life dirty scumbag piece of crap thieving sons of stinking dogs cimbed in through the back window of my truck and cut the line that I had tied the outfit to the emergncy brake with. If you see someone with it... check the spool because I'm the only one I know around here that has a set up like that ... just hook 'em in the eye lid and bring 'em to me. I'll catch a bluefish and feed some part of his body to the yellow eyed devil. Happened today around 4-5PM at the Charlestown Breechway parlking lot. Moderators feel free to bleep anything that is off the charts. I'm a little bit PO'd.:behead:

You should be PO'ed, no need to bleep anything.
We'll keep an eye out...
Bill L 11-01-2006, 07:50 PM :af: That sucks, what color are the wraps on the rod? I'll keep an eye out
BigBo 11-01-2006, 08:01 PM Seems to be a rash of this stuff going on lately. Sorry for the bad luck Kevin. I had gear stolen last week as well.:realmad:
When I saw the title of this thread, I had a little hope that someone recovered my stuff.
vanstaal 11-01-2006, 08:05 PM so sorry for the loss :err:
"uffah!!" 11-01-2006, 08:17 PM When there caught they hang them up!!!!
1dozenraw 11-01-2006, 08:29 PM The rod is a stock 9' Lami surf and jetty MHS with the standard Lami logo and rating info and wrapped at the factory black with gold highlites. The reel is easy to spot because it's a newer 706Z but I put and old style black 704Z spool on it which is smaller and creates a gap between the spool edge and the rotor. Anyway... thanks and ya never know.
Springtides 11-01-2006, 09:31 PM Remember these guys want cash (guess why). So others may buy this stuff not realizing the origin. So best to call authorities, delay the individual, get a license plate etc. Either way be careful.
I think it was last year there was a rash of this @hit in this area. The m.o. was unlocked cars in driveways. Only thing being stolen was fishing gear. I'm in SoCO and will keep an eye out for this stuff. Ya know it might not be a bad idea to have a list of stuff we are looking out for. Like that description of the black 704z spool and the lami rod in this thread. JohnR what do you think? A lost or stolen category? Maybe that is going to far....I don't know, this $hit just pisses me off.
bttfish 11-02-2006, 08:33 AM Sorry for your lost. There are too many of these D@m Jack@$$ around. BigBo, I been looking for ya at both Wolleston and the Canal. Nothing so far.. Now I will be on the look out for both of ya.. Better print out the description so I can match it up. Hope you guys find your stuff soon. Lets hang these jack@$$ by their D!&*. :realmad: :rocketem: Sorry moderator, hope I did not cross the line with my language, but I just hate thieves. We work hard for our gears.. Know what I mean?
riarcher 11-02-2006, 11:14 AM Not long ago, I'd leave keys in the truck, never locked doors (house or truck),,,,, never worried about thieves.
Today, I assume everything left available willbe stolen.
1 more year to pay on the pick-up, then it's a SUV for me. Not that the SUV is a fail-safe,,,, but considerably better... (I hope).
While favoring 1 pc. rods,,,, the multi piece look good sometimes.
I'll keep an eye out for you 1dozenraw.
chris L 11-02-2006, 11:14 AM check your local pawn shops . people who do these things pawn them for instant cash . then usually but not always to a dealer for a shot in the arm or a toot up the nose .
Redsoxticket 11-02-2006, 11:23 AM I only bring one rod with me for this reason in fact I don't even but my S-B sticker on the windshield so as to not give any ideas.
I'll also keep an eye out for your equipment

capesams 11-02-2006, 12:16 PM You'll see the crime rate go up when jobs are few and the price's of fishing gear goes up.........easy money for those low life type's.
ThrowingTimber 11-02-2006, 04:07 PM 1doz, I'll keep an eye out bud, I know like all of us you work hard and trake pride in your stuff. No one has any right to take someone elses stuff. Me 'n the boys, chuckie, aj, angler, btbob et al will keep an eye out and swirly anyone we find with your stuff.

I'll shoot first and ask questions later.I promise.I'm tired of thieves.Way to many encounters
with them in the last year.Time to put a STOP to it.
OSSCA 11-03-2006, 03:50 PM I've just sent out e mails to the members of my club with a description of your gear.100 extra sets of eyes will be looking for your gear this weekend. I had my gear stolen last year and we found it about a week later so don't give up hope.
PurpelNoon 11-04-2006, 10:08 AM Just thinking more about this -its not a bad idea to take some photos of rod and reel setups at home or something like that so you have photos you can show when something like this unfortunately happens. I hope you get them back, or at least catch the creep(s) who would do this.
splshnplug 11-04-2006, 02:35 PM that sucks, if you know anybody in conn. have them check flea markets. i know guys that have had gear stollen in that spot. i've been told some of it shows up in conn. good luck
jimmy z 11-04-2006, 07:24 PM I'm around that area alot, I'll keep my eyes open. I just can't fathom that a local would do that. Unless someone is hooked on junk. It was probably a visitor to the area.
