JohnR 06-09-2002, 12:59 PM yep, too the stripers... I think if you keep them too long without some kind of food they start to maul each other... must be someting to use... mar t 06-09-2002, 01:21 PM well i'm not sure you can call it food but i use shiner life and rock salt and there fine for a week to 10 days anyway. marty mar t Slipknot 06-09-2002, 01:33 PM I've read somewhere you can use rosy reds for food. some kind of small goldfish type feeders for aquariums. I suppose you can get them at a pet store. Bob Junior 06-13-2002, 09:12 AM What about cat or dog food? Billybob 06-14-2002, 03:45 PM Purina eel chow. I don't know if you can get them, but the best eel bait for a trap are dead horseshoe crabs. Scotch Bonnet 06-14-2002, 03:52 PM I'm stepping all over romantic Horseshoe crabs in and around the Breachway! thewaterfordstriper 06-14-2002, 04:58 PM i heard horseshoe crabs are the way to go....hmmmmm maybe i'll take a little trip ;) capesams 06-14-2002, 05:53 PM Make those crabs female, it's the largest of the two. these are what we use to get the eels into the traps. eel's love the egg's. just split the crab in half, the eel's will do the rest. Scotch Bonnet 06-14-2002, 09:02 PM Waterford, if you go to C'town B'way, park at the boat launch and walk twords the pond. With a small boat/canoe you'll get alot more.
