What is the advantage over a stainless lip on a handcarved?
View Full Version : Speakin of lexan- justplugit 11-11-2006, 06:13 PM What is the advantage over a stainless lip on a handcarved? Backbeach Jake 11-11-2006, 07:24 PM I can't think of any. I have a Gary2 Tiger that I'll put up against any Bomber style. Jigman 11-11-2006, 10:54 PM Lexan is lighter and easier to cut. I find for smaller freshie plugs it works better than stainless. Mostly cause the stainless adds more weight where I don't want it. Also harder to cut in the real small sizes (like for 1/4 oz plugs). For striper sized stuff, the stainless is a better choise. It allows you more options as far as tuning the plug compared to lexan. Jigman Striperknight 11-11-2006, 11:29 PM You can't bend the lexan to tune the plug. LaPala 11-12-2006, 05:54 PM Lexan is transperant so theoretically fish do not see it as much as an SS lip, so it will not add to the total length of a lure. No flash too when u don't want an attraction like that. justplugit 11-16-2006, 05:20 PM Thanks for all the info. Appreciate it. :btu: vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
