37lbs from the boat low 20lbs from the surf. Surf sucked for me this season but didnt spend as much time as usual in it. Next season will be different.....

Didn't break 30 lbs this year, but caught plenty of fish in the 20's plugging and, more importantly, had a blast doing it.

AT least 60 fish bigger than 40 inches.40 inches is only around 20-25 lbs.I know I had a few trips where I caught 20 fish bigger than that..One afternoon,From 12-4 when I had to leave, my brother an I basically alone had em every cast.I had 4 or 5 over 35 lbs that day..
All surf..
Next yr i'm gonna try to keep a accurate log of the happenings. It'll be tough as time was short.Fish, work, fish sleep.I was on 4-5 hrs for a month putting wet gear on every trip.Tyin leaders, changing hooks an dryin plugs took all my spare time..

Numbskull just summed up my season....
fair number of 18-25lb fish in May/June and Sept/Oct with several larger than 25 but nothing over 30.

My season sounded a lot like Bart's. Biggest one was about 25lbs on a plug. Spent a lot of time with the fly rod, caught a ton of schoolies, and decent size blues. Also got a good amount of snook in FL. Trying to get back down south for some Tarpon this winter.

32.75# officially, was the biggest I weighed. I don't think I released anything bigger, altho it's possible

I did the "early release" thing on a couple of possibles, too. :hihi:

I came close to the 30# mark but I don't think I passed it. I can't be sure because the only fish over 20#'s that I kept was 40" and 25 pounds. I did have a few fish in the 43-44" range. Most likely just high twenties.

I had 3 fish over 25 lbs. this year, biggest being 27.5

Considering I had never caught one 25 or better before this year, I gotta say I'm happy w/ this year.

30 lb'er next years goal

I caught some nice fish, much bigger in RI and Mass than ME. I still want the real big one. And almost all on my plugs or teasers.

There is only one theory about angling in which I have perfect confidence, and this is that the two words, least appropriate to any statement, about it, are the words "always" and "never."

last 40 was caught just a few days ago
Ken, its cruel to text me pics of slobs, while Im at work :cputin: But keep em coming :bl: :claps:
I managed close to a dozen bass from the surf over 30lbs this season, mostly from 2 runs of fish in Aug. and Oct.
I dont think any of those were over the mid-30lb range. Still holding out for a 40 this year :spin:

Decent year overall, but many of the fish were very hard earned.Got about 65 fish in the 16-25# range for the year in about 60 nights of fishing.4- 30 plus#,47# was best. I fished strictly the surf this year, only hit the boat once for a couple hours. Like Krispy experienced, two runs of fish really accounted for a good portion of the numbers I caught. Runs I hit were mid/late may, and late sept/early oct. Most everything else was singles. Lots of nights with one hit/one fish, but usually decent fish, 20 plus pounds. Eels and storms did the dirty work.

I fished all surf , all plugs , and my best this year was a 25lber. The friggin blues were monsters but i hate the @#%$& things now! They were fun in August and September when we were having trouble with bass, but they stuck it out all through October, and got in the way of some good cow opportunities. I mean every pod of bunker we found was loaded with the friggin things, even at night a few times too.
Oh well , I cant complain, I had alot of fun this year, and I'm not done yet.

I am at the point as long as I am catching fish and fishing with people I enjoy I really don't give a rat's ass how big the fish are. Big fish, small fish it's all fun especially if you match the gear to the situation. I especially like to fish by myself and when bigger fish are caught on a lonely beach with no one around it's even better. I did not keep one fish this year or last, the big ones suck to eat and the little juicy ones can't be kept. After a while dead fish pictures all look the same and then you have to get rid of the things if you don't eat them. I only contemplated one fish going home but Numbskull told me it wasn't worth it and he was right, I just hope the next guy who hooks the old girl feels the same. Had a great year that's for sure and it has not ended yet as I will be out tonight, just hope next year is as good and the beach thing opens up. Dang sealage.
