I knew you loved that little squirt...you old softy! Sorry to hear the news Don...please express my sorrow to your beloved Venessa....we treat our pets as the family members they are so I know how difficult it is for you two right now. Remember the good times and the fact that Venessa and you also gave the little guy a grand life!

Don,
Sorry to hear it. The last time I had to do it was about 6 years ago and it sure is a $hitty feeling.

Sorry to hear that Don. Dogs are really members of our family and when we lose them it hurts.

I lost my last Golden 5 years ago, and just recently was able to look

at his picture. The one before that is gone over 10 years now and

the memories of him fills our family with alot of great laughs and memories. :)

2 weeks ago, my Mom called me in tears saying she had to put one of her dogs (she has 2) down, she (the dog) had been slipping for some time, peeing all over, vommitting, no sense of where she was. My Mom is very ill and taking care of the dog was making it very difficult for her. My Mom made the appointment for the following day. She called me the next morning and siad not to worry, the dog died overnight. I thought that was very weird and glad my Mom did not have to follow through.

i know how much that hurts....

sometimes it's worse than loosing a loved human being.

i hope you'll both feel better soon.

best wishes.

I'm so sorry to hear about that. 16 years is a good run but I know that only makes it harder since you have that much longer for them to get into your heart. I've got a 6 year old golden and a 4 month old $hit-Zu(comments about him belong in GOP Board) and if anything ever happened to my golden I don't know what i'd do.

They are family and the best friend you could ever have. Ts&Ps coming your way...

I am going through the same thing with my wife's dog. We will have to put her down shortly but it is hard.

You never know how much discomfort the dog is in. Might have an idea, but you can never really tell. MY shepperd bothered me. The 16 1/2 yr.old golden bothered me much more. The golden I have right now is well, we'll probably have her cremated and buried in Middleborough so the wife can visit her after.

Even if it's for the best, it still doesn't make it any easier. Sorry about that Don. A loyal family pet is difficult to let go.

It is a very difficult thing to do. It was heartbreaking when I had to do this a few years back. No question that dogs become family, and to have to put one down is heartbreaking. I wished they lived longer.
Best Regards...
