I did however bid on a BM danny this past winter for $35. Didn't even come close to winning it. There is a shop on the North Shore that sells Bugger dannies, Tattoo swimmers and Hab's needles for $25 a plug. :err: Too me that's ridiculous especially when I can get them on line from just about any of the sponsors here for $20 or less. They do however sell AH plugs for $20 and I'll pay that because it seems to be the going rate. :humpty: Christian 11-16-2006, 04:22 PM for the work that goes into them, the cost is worth it. Skitterpop 11-16-2006, 04:25 PM 15 to 200 Mike P 11-16-2006, 04:32 PM I have all the plugs I'll ever need. $5 is the most I'll pay for a jig. Krispy 11-16-2006, 04:38 PM Ive paid $25, defintiely not worth it, even though its an excellent plug. Just plain olde alot of money for a lure lurch 11-16-2006, 04:42 PM I have all the plugs I'll ever need. $5 is the most I'll pay for a jig. I am shocked how much jigs cost! luds 11-16-2006, 04:43 PM I have all the plugs I'll ever need. $5 is the most I'll pay for a jig. I hope I can feel that way some day.:uhuh: Tagger 11-16-2006, 04:46 PM custom 20 ,,, some vintage 40 ,,, all other vintage out of my league .. doc 11-16-2006, 04:48 PM just paid $30 for a plug...took a lot for me to drop that much cash on the plug but it was such a sweet hunk of wood...proceeded to loose it to the atlantic on my second cast due to a little friggin fray on my braid... Flaptail 11-16-2006, 05:01 PM Who pays for plugs? Just kidding, kowing how much work goes into building a classic wooden plug it all depends on how badly I want it and there have been some I have wanted really badly and they were worth it others I bought I thought were worth it though and got screwed. Don't ask me how much for a few, it's too embarrasing.:bl: shadow 11-16-2006, 06:52 PM around 20 but in the past I'v paid $35 won't do that no more It's not worth it unless your really into collecting them god knows I won't throw a $35+ plug into the surf.I'v lost my obession to collect every plug I can. Tagger 11-16-2006, 08:42 PM what if its a magna lure ? you snake j/k Snipe not snake you garden weasel !:realmad: jkswimmer 11-16-2006, 09:00 PM 8.00 $ I have plenty ChiefLinesider 11-16-2006, 09:10 PM 20-25. A hell of a lot of work goes into most lures in that price range. Should never snap them off if you check your line often enough. Unless Mrs. Striped Bass cuts you off on the rocks. And if im confident in a lure that hooks nice fish its worth it for me. big jay 11-16-2006, 09:39 PM 23.95 - or whatever the big habs goes for at SWE. But with all the pretty wood stuff I've accumulated, I've caught 500X more fish on $7 Bombers, and about a million times more on $5 bucktails. I'll still keep buying the wood, its actually one of my more productive ways to waste money. Pete_G 11-16-2006, 11:20 PM If the plug lasts and works, I'll pay a lot for it. I've have a very well used Habs that's going to see it's 4th season next year and it sees almost nightly use. I've got more then my money's worth out of it... RickBomba 11-17-2006, 12:37 AM I get 'em all for free, well, sort of. Donations, donations, etc. Rick reebok 11-17-2006, 09:03 PM 20 - 25 or 25 - 30 for a jointed.. is it worth it?? hell ya A few dollars for a HOG and I'm good to go. Or $12 for an SS needle. Or $1.75 for an eel. But $25, $30 for plug? Another planet. Mike P 11-18-2006, 11:19 AM If Superstrike was ever to make pencil poppers and metal lips generally available, I doubt I'd ever have any reason to buy any other brand of plug. They cast, they catch, and they hold up to rocks. Every one works the same, right out of the package. What more can you ask out of a plug? Swimmer 11-18-2006, 12:14 PM there are four or five people here who make plugs that if I had the money I would own every damn one of what they make! Even if it was only to hang them up on the celler wall. Cost is insignificant. striprman 11-18-2006, 01:09 PM I make my own for about $4-$5 each. Screw eyes, mustad hooks that are cut at the loop and a couple cans of blue, yellow, white, red, silver and black paint and a paint brush jimmy z 11-18-2006, 10:42 PM I've paid $20-$25 for plugs. When the toothy critters are around I'll use $5 plugs.:D Rob Rockcrawler 11-19-2006, 12:19 PM 20-25 buck. thats the goin rate for most local plugs on the market. I pick up a few each year, and still only use bout 4 of em. If i count all my plugs at 20 bucks each and do a little math...:smash: Van 11-19-2006, 01:45 PM What's a plug ??????????????:hang: Saltheart 11-20-2006, 01:41 AM Depend on when you ask. If its after landing a big fish...$20. If its after casting one off on the first cast after opening the package...where's my jig mold! Personally , I think the plug prices have gone nuts. Not arguing about the quality and if they are worth it based on workmanship , just saying at some point , its too much to tie on the ned of a line and send out into the darkness. ThrowingTimber 11-21-2006, 04:50 PM Plugs cost money?? Get the **(# out??? Buck and a half maybe 2 bux for the fancy dancy stuff, board foot. I'm po! So poor I got the "or" on layaway.. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
