Remember when this first came out .. It was all bubble gum and candy drops before this .. nobody played like this .. This guy gets feedback on purpose and controls it .. He was 27 yr.s old when he died .. just a kid .. never to be forgotten ..

Nobody like him since ... have you been able to find "Have you Ever Been to Electric LadyLand on here?" I could not find it through the posts ... although The Wind Cried Mary is one of my all time favorites, along with his version of All Along the Watch Tower.

Now I have to go home and put him on the stero ... I hope my daughter Sydney likes him (she's 22 months old and likes the Dead as well as Taj Mahal ... but not keen on Steve Ray Vaughn ... we'll see about Jimi).

Dylan wrote "Watchtower". Saw Hendrix perform it and declared Jimi's version perfect. Always played it that way afterward. My personal favorite, keep it in the sandsled for solo rides. Cranked!

Hendrix's version of "All Along The Watch Tower" is by far greater than Dylan's, no question about it. What else is amazing is seeing how many of today's/or yesterday's top artist claim Jimi Hendrix as their main influence or a key influence -

Robert Cray
Steve Ray Vaughn
Sting
... and I am sure the list goes on, but that is his impact on the music industry ...
