View Full Version : This may be it
tattoobob 11-19-2006, 12:52 PM On Tuesday I go for a Job interview, and this type of job I have been hoping to get my whole life, it is at Mass General Hospital, 4 10 hr days a week. plus bennies. I have been jumping around from one scab plumbing Co. to the next with no room to grow. just getting used then thrown away when not needed anymore. And I am sick of it. and I can't let striper fishing ruin it for me I may start a 12 step program to curve my addiction :buds:
Wish me luck
Slingah 11-19-2006, 12:55 PM GOOD LUCK BOB!!!!!

chris L 11-20-2006, 10:04 AM good luck with the job . hospitals always need plumbers and keep ya for a long time . usually good bennies and fair/good pay . they make up for bad pay with great bennies at Yale .
tattoobob 11-20-2006, 10:37 AM I don't really need the bennies, retirement would be nice.
I get everything I need from my wifes work, What I really
need is long term employment. I was wondering about the
pay it didn't say anything on the listing.
I want to thank everyone for the well wishes and advice.
The Iceman 6 11-20-2006, 10:38 AM Agree with Speace and good luck Bob...

LeCounts1099 11-20-2006, 11:07 AM Good luck with this, Bob! You know I'm pulling for you! I'd guess you'd fish even harder (if possible!) with the job security & peace of mind you'd have! I know for sure it's their loss if they don't stick the gaff in you immediately! :usd:

tattoobob 11-20-2006, 04:24 PM I know and I will miss it for sure, but long weekends are good to. I am sure glad I had the year I had, 2 weeks at Block Island, 2 long weekends at Cuttyhunk,1 week at Salisbury, 1 week in Truro, and 6 days a week for 2 months at Plum Island. wow now that I look at it I know where all my money went.
Forgot about the one day I spent with Luds and his friend Scott on BI in Sept.
The Dad Fisherman 11-20-2006, 07:52 PM Good Luck Bob, I'm pulling for you
riverrat55 11-20-2006, 08:21 PM Good Luck, Bob!!!
Nothing like having a 3 day weekend every week!!!
:humpty: :boots: :beat:
tattoobob 11-21-2006, 12:59 PM Well it seems my resume spoke for it's self because I already had the job before I walked in, he basically went thru the job discription and Bennie's then said as long as I pass the 2nd interview with HR and pass the Medical and back round check I will start around the first of the year.
I was worried about the pay but it is doable.
I want to thank everyone for your support.
JohnR 11-21-2006, 01:05 PM Good news :btu:

LeCounts1099 12-27-2006, 04:10 PM Great news, Bob! I know you were POed at how M.G. was drawing things out. Unreal! Good that you were proactive, & their inaction is now your new Co.s' gain! Nice to be wanted w/o hesitation!

Finaddict 12-28-2006, 11:58 AM Bob -
Congratulations on the new job. Now you won't have to steal my plugs that I find in the surf claiming you saw them first ... :rotf2:
Good thing you got more $$ too, is it closer to home? that will make a huge difference as well.

If I remember correctly I saw it and couldn't do anything about it because my plug was stuck on a rock and I was waiting to wade out and get it, and pointed it out to you, I will share ownership with you
Well I go where the job is basically from S. New Hampshire to Cape Cod. I won't have to take the train to work everyday either.
