I never even owned a ten years after album ,But always thought Alvin Lee was the best performance at woodstock .. One of the best live performances ever.. Played the fastest,,,made the funniest faces,, and definately in out of space somewhere..

Karl ,, This past summer in Scituate Ten Years After played a concert in the street .. They're touring without Alvin Lee .. Couldn't take it .. Like the Doors without Jim Morrison ... why bother ?

Wow Ed, that had to Suck.. never seen anybody play like Alvin.. who could even come close.. only guy I ever knew who came close, never made it big.. John Poro, kid I went to school with.. he could do the "I'm going home" solos.. if ya closed your eyes, ya swore it was Alvin.

I just checked out alvinlee.com and tenyearsafter.com....
Alvin is still cranking out some cool blues, some samples on both sites.. but they are very clear.. Alvin no longer tours with TYA

Tens Years After.. they went thru a bunch of names, and members.. went with TYA when the heard it was the tenth anniversary of the birth of rock and roll... when they reformed.. once.... which happened to be another decade later.. they went with Ten Years Later.. but that didn't last .. Alvin wanted to do more blues.. and felt stuck with the TYA stuff.. did a lot of stuff over the years with Mick Taylor, George Harrison, Chuck Berry, Eric Clapton and others.. and just did a CD with Scotty Moore.. Alvin is big in europe, germany in particular..
kind of overlooked as a guitar god.. but influenced many...
