They way the news is talking is that peoples own insurance co. are paying them for repairs, don't you think that the place that blew up should pay for the disaster and repairs to all the homes and cars that were damaged?

Is it possible they didn't have the right insurance to provide this coverage?

It could be that their insurance pays and then the insurance goes after the companies insurance.

That's almost definately the way it'll work. The homeowner's insurance companies aren't going to let the company skate on this one.

It would make sense...there's no way corporate insurance would respond fast enough. And given the size of the claim they would likely pay nothing and wait to sort it out in litigation.

Its a huge blessing that the Eastern Propane facility next door didn't BLEVE the entire neighborhood into a gigantic crater.

I should have known that, thanks just seems wrong to have a company like that in a place where people live
It's never a problem until something goes wrong.
I grew up in Everett within sight of the LNG terminal.
I could hear the tugs when they brought one in.
1 mile. Never bothered me. Still doesn't. I'm still in range. 3 miles.
Just got used to it.
I figure I would have to move to Danvers for it not to become a problem.
How's that working out for me now?

Wow, just found out that my coworkers parents live on the street next to the factory. there whole house is demolished. They cant even get back in with the insurance co since the fire deparment is investigating. the foundation is cracked, windows and frames blown in, beams cracked. Luckily his parents were not hurt.
