Any finish will also lock it down even more... -spence riggedeel 11-28-2006, 10:27 PM thanks Spence I'm guessing that you wire up the plug before you apply the finish/topcoat? spence 11-28-2006, 10:29 PM thanks Spence I'm guessing that you wire up the plug before you apply the finish/topcoat? I'm sure some techniques vary, but most home builders I've seen seal, paint, wire then finish... Getting the wire tight takes a bit of practice, but it's not difficult. There are probably some good threads in the archives if you search around. -spence crash 11-28-2006, 10:37 PM I run the wire, and make a loop with my pliers. I then put the tag end into a vise and if necessary work the loop towards the grommet. Then I turn the pliers while pulling away from the vise, until I have the desired # of wraps. There is probably a better way, but this works well in my warped mind. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
