View Full Version : Plugfest 2007
Slipknot 12-02-2006, 06:26 PM Hey all you plug builders and plug builder wannabees, time to start planning again.
What are you thoughts about Feb. 17th for a date?
Same place? and time
Let's have the contest again this year and have 2 catagories and bring a small pool for swimming plugs like justplugit suggested. John thinks the contest should be open to all who pay the 10 bucks to get in and I agree. Everyone is encouraged to make plugs for the contest no matter how practical, pretty, plain, wacky or original because we will have 2 separate catagories this year.
Maybe Steelhead can come again and do some tying or others???
Suggestions?
I have a guest speaker lined up

Charleston 12-03-2006, 09:17 AM Man!! every year I try to get the stones to make that horrific drive to Mass. Maybe this year I can do it. I would love to see the Fest for once!
Flaptail 12-03-2006, 09:28 AM I am diggin on the swim thing. It's makes the whole deal more plausible, I like that a plug will have to be more than just a pretty face!
Dang, this is gonna make it really hard. I love it!:bl:
BigFish 12-03-2006, 09:32 AM Have a seperate category for a plugs action in the water?:uhuh:
justplugit 12-03-2006, 09:46 AM yahoo, yahoo, yahoo. :bounce: :jump: :bounce:
JohnR 12-03-2006, 10:05 AM Last year was pretty organized, do you all want it similar to last years? A little looser? Last year was a pretty busy day and an awesome time and turnout.
Charleston - get a few guys from your area that are interested and carpool and split a room up near Middleboro.
Plug Contest - similar as last year?
Categories?
Last year there was some, err, disagreement on plugs submitted as some were certainly less "fishable" than others. Do we request that plugs must be "castable" and "fishable"? Don't get me wrong they were all great but some were less likely than others to, umm, be retreiveable with anything less than a power anchor winch :hee:
Any other suggestions?
Thanks,
John
redneck24 12-03-2006, 10:13 AM good date :) i agree with john, fishable and castable plugs.
Slipknot 12-03-2006, 10:37 AM 2 catagories this year so you could actually enter 2 different plugs if you choose. One a fishable plug, and one a novelty type plug use you imagination. I'll put up a thread when I decide on how we will vote for it.
JohnR 12-03-2006, 10:47 AM Excellent idea - fishable and novelty categories...
Prizes will be Twinkies - 1st place 5 boxes of twinkies, 2nd 3 boxes, 3rd 1 box (OK - that was a joke)
stripercrazy 12-03-2006, 11:09 AM I like twinkies and the 17ths my birthday:biglaugh: sounds good...ed
Tagger 12-03-2006, 12:31 PM Twinkees sound great ... I'll try and bring the old guys again .

Slip ,if we do the pool thing, if someone could bring a small water
pump, i think we could simulate a current in the pool for the swim off.

I have a small battery operated sump pump that I could bring.
