View Full Version : Waiting Rooms
Topwater 06-17-2002, 10:30 AM Hi all.
John, You and the family have been in our prayers. I am glad you got to get out this past weekend.
I am currently in the waiting room of a Boston hospital and on line with their computer. I have been here since 6AM this morning. They have provided coffee, drinks and bagles. This is a far cry from any waiting room I have ever been in. Lunch should be coming soon. Two thumbs up so far.
My wife Kelly, is having her S1, L4 & L5 vertabrae fused together this morning. I hope to see her around 3 pm or so. She will then spend the next 5-6 days here and then the fun begins with her rehab. at home. I will post her updates again when I can get to a computer. I think this will be a easier way to let a lot of the MSBA people know how she is doing.
Topwater.

Never got a chance to thank you for that "cold one" down at the Cape a few weeks back. Hit the spot. Thanks.

JohnR 06-17-2002, 12:52 PM Hey TW, thanks, you and Kelly will be in ours too... Tell her we all said hello and wish a speedy recovery :btu:
Topwater 06-17-2002, 02:18 PM Thanks guys.....
She has just been sent to recovery, and I can see her in about an hour. The doctor said it went well. Good size incision in her back and another on her hip where they dug out good bone to screw into her back. Laymans terms, no spellcheck for the medical terminology. I am not looking forward to the food here tonight.
I'll update more later.

Got Stripers 06-17-2002, 07:57 PM TW hope everything goes well. I hate hospital, it's the smell, just don't like that hospital smell.
Fisherwoman 06-17-2002, 08:26 PM Hey Topwater,
Glad to hear it went well, she will be one sore puppy tomorrow. We will call ya in the afternoon to see how she is doing. Tell her to hang in there.
Slipknot 06-17-2002, 09:45 PM I wish her well too Topwater. That's a ruff thing to go through but will be worth it in the end. Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery.
Saltheart 06-18-2002, 09:17 AM I agree , waiting rooms suck. You get incredibly tired just sitting there doig nothing but dealing with mental stress.
Hope she gets well soon.
bloocrab 06-18-2002, 09:42 AM ...Good Luck TW & Kelly..
..keep a very positive attitude when you visit her, don't show her how concerned you really are!!!...Be strong for her....:)
Topwater 06-18-2002, 10:51 AM Thank You.
It seems that the waiting room was the best part so far. Doc saw her to day and said things look good. Her IV got bent at some point so she was without meds for about an hour, while they put another line in. She now has the pain machine maxed out with no limits to how many times she can push the button.
She was supposed to have a private room, but someone with the same last name as ours got to the floor first:confused: .
She had an empty double room for about 20 minutes, then this woman comes in who had been waiting to be admitted all day and wanted to know why her bed wasn't made. I think she knew every person that walked by in the hall, and then invited them in. Then the rest of her family came in and they all stood around yelling at a shopping gameshow on the tv. Some people have no clue :af: :af: :af: :af: :af: :af: :af: :af: .:smash: :smash: :smash:
Anyway I'll stop there, because it gets worse.
SM We'll do that cold one again real soon:D .
FW I'll call you tonight. Not sure about the meeting tomorrow. I have a doctors appointment at 7:30 and then to the hospital or the other way around. Didn't get to sleep until 2AM with the mother-in-law stayin over.
Got caught in that hail storm last night. Thought I was going loose every window in the truck.
Bloo thanks for the advice, everyone tells you that, but seeing it written down made me really think about it.
John Thanks for letting me vent .
