Nice rip, beautiful weather, quarter moon.
Got in the hole around 1900 to find four or five chunkers running up the current, through the Rip and drifting back down through.
I have fished these waters for over fifty years and become more disgusted every time I go.
Do you guys have any concept at all of what it does to the fish to run and gun up current RIGHT THROUGH THE RIP, OVER THE LEDGES AND HOLES WHERE THE FISH ARE TRYING TO LAY!
The Rip in Quicks Hole is short so why not run up current out in the deep water and then drift down over the shallow stuff.
I have worked that Rip and that ledge since I was young and can work around lobster pot buoys, anchored boats and drifting boats. Put out all the freaking bright lights and you will be amazed how much better you can see. Don't yell at me if my lights are off. You could see me well enough to pester the hell out of me.
We had a good nights fishing, in spite of the drifting and hollering and run and gun guys.
