so when the Dems take control, now that the elections are over, how many think the price of oil, and gasoline will go down, since most of you were blaming republicans for the prices?

StripinLine 12-08-2006, 09:52 AM :spin:  chief10 12-08-2006, 10:01 AM 2.29 per galllon ..filled her up this am spence 12-08-2006, 10:01 AM I think it's a silly question. There's little the Dems could influence aside from attempting to rid the oil companies of tax incentives. -spence Duke41 12-08-2006, 10:06 AM I am certain that oil will fall below 1 per gallon of Hillary Clinton gets elected. She is the nations savior. Vote for Hillary a woman of the people. spence 12-08-2006, 10:34 AM I am certain that oil will fall below 1 per gallon of Hillary Clinton gets elected. Perhaps you could scrounge up a credible Republican who actually has some ideas? -spence Duke41 12-08-2006, 10:58 AM You guys need a creative outlet to vent. -spence Dude what do you think this is? spence 12-08-2006, 10:59 AM It's not very creative :hihi: -spence Diggin Jiggin 12-08-2006, 11:02 AM I tend to think oil prices are going to keep going back up. This administration is oil company friendly, and they know it. Isn't it interesting that we saw such a large drop in prices just in time for the november election. And now that the election is over and the republicans lost, they are creeping back up at a time when historically they go down. And ya its supply and demand, but the gasoline supply is manipulated by the oil companies. With the supply up & the price started to drop, it became time to take some refineries out of operation for maintenance and to switch others to refining heating oil so that the supply drops and the inflated prices can go back up. This industry needs some major oversight, maybe even more than oversight. stripersnipr 12-08-2006, 11:38 AM You guys need a creative outlet to vent. Just because Hilary has ideas doesn't make them good ideas. ktugboat42 12-08-2006, 11:49 AM It better not because thats what pays my salary. spence 12-08-2006, 11:51 AM Just because Hilary has ideas doesn't make them good ideas. I think you could say that about anyone :pop: -spence TheSpecialist 12-09-2006, 12:35 AM I guess the question should have been, now that the dems will have control, will they pass some legislation to stop the raping of america?? Will they have the balls, or will we finally prove they are just as bad... spence 12-09-2006, 12:48 AM I guess the question should have been, now that the dems will have control, will they pass some legislation to stop the raping of america?? Will they have the balls, or will we finally prove they are just as bad... Aside from a national gas tax which would never pass there's really nothing they can do! -spence TheSpecialist 12-09-2006, 05:27 AM So Spence what you are saying then is they are just like the Republicans you were blaming for the high prices? stripersnipr 12-09-2006, 08:57 AM Aside from a national gas tax which would never pass there's really nothing they can do! -spence A National Gas Tax would lower our prices? Swimmer 12-09-2006, 09:17 AM picked anything but the last choice. It isn't either party that has influence over the price of gas. Unless of course they nationalize the companies, but that would only work for all the oil and gas actually mined in this country. The middlemen/women who sit in the futures offices bid the price up and down all day/week/year long are the people everyone needs to look at. If Iran burps nuclear in the morning, in the mideast, by afternoon, a price change, higher, is in effect, because of the ayatollahs gas (yes this is a cheap play on words) problem. If Iran makes nice and Chavez in Venezuela are in good modds then there is no price change. I agree with Spence about the context of the question. To me there is little difference between dems and repubs. The dems want to do everything for you and the repubs want you to do everything for yourself. The dems want total control of all funds, giving different projects seperate checks. The repubs like giving money in blocks (block grants) to groups or municipalities and let those persons dole out the money. Dems and Repubs all want a safer, more affluent society with equal/better education for all. They just differ on how to arrive at that point. jkswimmer 12-17-2006, 05:18 PM Because of the ayatollays gas problem:rotf3: vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
