Dragged the snowblower out today to give it a start, you never know. Get into the light from the shed and notice lots of shreadded stuff all around the housing and such. I then noticed a few eyes peering out from around the flywheel. Damn mice. So I say screw you and start the thing up.:behead: Shredded mice but now I got to take the damn thing apart to get the parts out. 3 dear departed mouses. They got me back though because after I put blower back together I tried to start it again and the damn rope broke. Mouse thing happened last year even with poison set on the blower it self. They also renovated my mower into condo's over the last winter too. I am just lucky they didn't eat the wires. Disgusting little dirty buggers. The Cats are working OT in the house too. Usually they will stay outside if it is mild like this, but not this year. PIA. Sorry. Merry Xmas. P.

take some(a little, bird seed and put it in/on a

jar lid in the bottom of a five gallon bucket

filled 1/4 with water....smear some peanut butter
on the inside (just enough for aroma....)
just above the water line.....

they'll drown every-time trying to get to that seed.

oh! also: ya have to make a simple flat stick ramp
to the bucket's top edge...

last week I'm sitting at my desk and out of the corner of my eye I see something move along the wall. I turn quick and it's the fattest mouse I ever seen in my life. Thing disappears behind the filing cabinet and comes back out because it's tight against the wall...runs right in front of the cabinet to my waiting foot...cept brighto here couldn't lift his foot fast enough and kicked it across the room. Another split second and it would have beena perfect pancake.

S'ok cuz the next day I gave him the last supper...8 packages of Dcon spread thruout the shop :gu: :gu: :devil2: :behead: :behead: :lm: :cheers:

PM, one year, they nested in my grill outside, I used a shovel to take out the nest, filled with littel pink babies,the mom mouse watched me the whole time. My wife made me buy a new grill saying she'd never eat on it again...damn things

If you know someone with a cat borrow some used kitty litter and set it in a bowl near the motor or if you have a shed sprinkle it aroundthe outside of the shed...the scent will keep them away

I heard the little bastids scurrying around upstairs on the hardwood floors while I lay in bed this morning. Need to find the mouse traps.
This time I won't tell the wife.......

She screamed one night last year while watching TV. The next day I bought the traps and killed 2. I saved the dead to show her, so she wouldn't be such a baby........then she says "They are so cute"....GO FIGURE.

I get them in my shed and garage from the marsh.
This year I was looking for coyote piss or something to deter them, instead of trapping 3-4 a week.
HD guy says mothballs, they cant stand it.
I got a box of MB crystals, sprinkled around where they like to run, and havent seen or trapped any in a while now

I'm gonna micerize my shed......my cats love to play with em' in the house:love:

I used to catch them and chuck them into the wood stove, I had a dirt crawl space in my old house and it had so many mice I can't even begin to tell you. between traps and my cats we were getting at least 2 a night and they all went in the wood stove.

My cat would bring them in and drop them on the bed while we were sleeping and show us she caught one. not fun at all,

True, but in my case being on the water, killing the mice did nothing other than allow new mice to move-in 1-2 days later.
It only takes 1-2 moth ball crystals, not really that noticeable, and not as bad as mouse urine and little raisins all over the place

They love the snowmobiles here. Last year they had a big ole stinkin nest in one made of Alpaca wool.....just so you get a better idea of why this surprises me......the alpaca farm is a half mile away from the house!!!!

Its kinda fun to watch the ones in the exhaust come freeakin out when you start em up though!!!!

I used to live in a drafty old house in Jamaica Plain as akid, and we had a crack in the foundation that field mice were able to get through.
At first we tried traps, but after a while, they were looking sick with mice blood an brains on them, so we opted for a cat. We got a real good "mouser". He would catch and eat most of the mice. The funniest thing I ever saw was our dog. He was a German Shepard/Huskie mix (mostly shepard) names Champ. The dog and cat got along fantastic. I'll never forget the sight of a full grown shepard chasing AND CATCHING a mouse and eating it whole.
(I think he wanted to see what all the fuss was about.)
The other funny thing was the cat's way of bringing "gifts" to my father. The cat (a double pawed cat correctly named "Mittens") would bring freshly caught mice and climb on the kichen table, walk OVER the newspaper my father was reading with his breakfast, and drop his offering in his cereal. I can't help but laugh thinking about now, some 20+ years later.:scream:

is an electric anti -mouse (rodent device) that emits a high pitched shrill sound that drives all rodents out of your house. it sells for ten bucks. I'm planning on buying one soon myself.

i'll never forget though....one night....we had a water bed next to a wall....and of course they can't be moved....and our parrot used to (sometimes) wing his unwanted peanuts (still in the shell) out of his cage....

so i get into bed and i'm just about to fall asleep when i hear CRUNCH CRUNCH CRUNCH.... in the corner....near the bed...

it's a mouse with one of the parrots thrown peanuts......eating it

so i get up and grab a broom to search and destroy the S.O. B.
and what a hassle.....as i chased it all over the room smashing things just barely mising it many times until it finally ran up my body to try and get away....oh! man.... thats a real wake up event ...

that was the luckiest mouse ever .....as it finally escaped. :hs:

We haven't seen a whole mouse since we adopted cats 3 years ago.

I live next to a 2 acre field so it is going to happen. My cat is 16 now and not that interested in chasing mice too much but in his day he was a good one. Kind of like Sylvester now if you get my drift. We did get a young'n this spring and as soon as I had the damn thing spayed, $125, he up and ran away or got eaten by a coyote so it is back to traps. Anything that s%^$%t's where they eat is disgusting. Wood stove is a good idea. I usually throw them back into the field next door so their offspring can see what happens when you go next door. P.

Dude you guys are killing me. Brought back some memories of my last trip to south america, my family owns a grainery in a small town. These things were the size of your forearm :hee: we whacked em pretty good 1 beer a mouse :hee: my uncle was buyin:gu:

We had a 30' long hallway in our house growing up. My father would put balls of cheese on one end and we would sit at the other end with a pellet gun and pick em off. :jester:

That's not a good idea they eat there own, If you leave them in the trap more than a day they will eat the dead one.

yup. should have seen the face of my daughter yesterday when she pulled the drawer open to see what the trap caught. The carcass had been to the chop shop, lots of missing parts but I got the fine young cannibal this morning. P.

The morning after Christmas my daughter put some bread in the toaster and put the lever down. She looked down kind of puzzled at the toaster to see a little pink nose peeking up, well she screamed bloody murder and popped the button and the little basturd jumped out and sat on the counter. I tried to catch it but to no avail. Got traps that day...still havent got the mouse...neither have the cats....probaly went back outside
When it was over, my kid says " I hope I didn't burn his tail"
I said not to worry...his days are numbered

I use to work for a place where I had to travel down to Lafayette La. a few times a year to the shop down there usually a week at a time. I'm down there one time and I come in one day and all the women in the office are out that day. I asked the Operations manager what was going on. He said they were burning the Sugar Cane field next to us today. Well once that cane field started to burn it looked like a scene from Willard. There were thousands of rodents ( mice, rats, possums, whatever scampering across the parking lot. We had to lock down the shop for a while to deter most of them from getting in.

I think there is a hunting & trapping season on those little critters! Did you get your license yet for 2007? I believe you can only take the light brown ones & they have to measure at least 1" between the eyes. Good luck.

Remove cover and take out about a 3rd of the fluff inside!!!
Leave container in area of suspected mouse activity overnite!!!
Wake up in morning and find mouse dead in container with head stuck in the fluff!!! Never Fails!!!!!!!!!!!!!
