Happy Holidays

For my politically / cultural sensitive friends - Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral
celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion
And/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all.

I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2007, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other
cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country nor the
only America in the Western Hemisphere . Also, this wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishee.

By accepting these greetings, you are accepting the aforementioned terms as stated. This greeting is not subject to clarification or withdrawal. It is freely transferable with no alteration to the original greeting. It implies no promise by the wisher to actually implement any of the wishes for herself/himself/ others, and is void where prohibited by law and is revocable at the sole discretion of the wisher.

This wish is warranted to perform as expected within the usual application of good tidings for a period of one year or until the issuance of a subsequent holiday greeting, whichever comes first, and warranty is limited to replacement of this wish or issuance of a new wish at the sole discretion of the wisher.

For all my other Friends - Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

My son's day care asked us to bring a picture of him in last week. He came home with it framed in a plastic Christmas Tree to be used as an ornament on a Christmas Tree.

He's Jewish :)

Granted a lot of the PC Xmas flak is absurd...but some of it in context does seem appropriate at times.

Couldn't disagree with you more. It is an opportunity to discuss different cultures ideals and beliefs with a child. It's what this country is all about....DIVERSITY. Your child's picture is in a christmas tree, his child gets a dreidel, her child colors a Kwaanza picture.... Big freakin deal. Jewish holidays, catholic holidays, african american holidays. There is no force feeding here.

This poor bastard drives a damn bus. He drives the children safely to schoool everyday, part of their daily educational process. Look what nearly happens to this guy......

I mean are you kidding me? This stuff shouldn't even be discussed.:af:

Offense should never be taken when offending was never intended. When someone wishes me Merry anything I'll accept it.

If that was the case wouldn't they be having kids make all sorts of holiday trinkets? To my knowledge it was all about Jesus ;)

My kindergartner made a dreidle and learned the song this season. Public school.
No big deal.

Merry Christmas!

Nice try. The slow systematic deconstruction of everything Christmas ruled out the option of "Christmas crafts" in school long ago. They are now after anything that can be associated with or implied to encompass Christmas.

Sounds to me like it was more about keeping the children busy, teaching motor skills and occupying the time while their parents work rather than a drive-by conversion attempt.

Or a subversive and particulary wicked attempt to undermine my Son's "chosen" status by indoctrinating him with shiny "toy like" games and activities.
